The Papuan Separatist and Terrorist Group (KST) continues to carry out a series of very barbaric terror acts throughout 2023. Not half-hearted, in fact, from the many atrocities they carried out, they also killed civilians from the indigenous Papuan community (OAP) themselves, then also claimed the lives of security forces personnel and vandalized various kinds of public facilities built by the Government in Earth of Cenderawasih.
In fact, the threat and potential for further terror launched by KST Papua is still ongoing to this day. Meanwhile, security forces from the joint ranks of the Indonesian National Army (TNI) and the Indonesian National Police (Polri) continue to make efforts to hunt down the separatist gang in order to prevent victims from continuing to fall into their hands.
It is known that data reveals that throughout 2023, KST Papua was recorded as having committed the murder of up to 79 people, where the victims came from various elements, not only innocent civilians, but they also did not hesitate to kill TNI and Polri security forces. .
Head of the Peace Cartenz Task Force (Kasatgas), Police Commissioner (Kombes Pol) Faizal Rahmadani stated that the victims who died at the hands of the separatist gang in Bumi Cenderawasih consisted of 20 TNI soldiers, then 3 Polri members and 37 people who come from civil society circles, including OAP themselves.
The number of victims who suffered injuries as a result of the cruelty and barbarity carried out by the Separatist and Terrorist Group was 84 people, consisting of 24 TNI soldiers, 7 members of the National Police and 50 members of the public.
The victims who died or were injured came from 20 gunfights, then two cases of attacks on security forces posts, 19 gunshots, 39 cases of shooting and 16 cases of serious abuse, all of which were carried out by KST Papua.
It didn’t just stop there, the separatist gang also committed five cases of simple assault, five cases of murder, 32 arsons and as many as 52 other disturbances.
So far, the security forces from the ranks of the joint personnel themselves continue to carry out firm and measurable law enforcement against KST Papua, which in detail is that law enforcement has been carried out in 98 cases, consisting of 65 investigation stages and 33 investigation stages. A total of 25 files have been declared complete (P-21).
Of all the series of barbaric acts carried out by separatist and terrorist groups in Papua throughout 2023, there are a number of events that have been most highlighted by many parties, including the security forces. Some of them were when KST Papua carried out the sadistic murder of five workers who were carrying out construction on the West Beoga Community Health Center (Puskesmas) project in Jambul Village, West Beoga District, Puncak Regency, Central Papua.
In the same month, namely November 2023, KST Papua also shot at a TNI post, then also set fire to a school building and set fire to residents’ houses in Kunga Village, Ilaga District, and also at the State Junior High School (SMPN) 1 Building. Gome.
Apart from various kinds of attacks or destruction of public facilities, it turns out that the separatist gangs also carried out hostage-taking actions, which to this day continue to be the focus and attention because they are highlighted by many parties. The atrocities committed by KST Papua continue, this time against as many as 7 gold panners in Kali El Kampung Mosom Duba, Seradala District, Yahukimo Regency, Papua, which occurred on October 16 2023.
The victims of the massacre incident carried out by a gang that was contrary to the state’s ideology were not only from civil society, but also members of the TNI who had to die at their hands. A total of 6 elite TNI Army (AD) troops had to die as a result of the incident that occurred.
KST Papua apparently carried out another attack on Christmas Day, December 25 2023, at noon. They carried out an attack on the TNI Post in Bousah Village, South Aifat District, Maybrat Regency, Southwest Papua, killing one of the TNI soldiers.
