Jakarta – Indonesia will host the 2024 International Sustainability Forum (ISF) which will be held at the Jakarta Convention Center (JCC) in Central Jakarta on 5-6 September 2024. The ISF is believed to be a strategic platform to enhance global economic and investment cooperation.
Coordinating Minister for Maritime Affairs and Investment, Luhut Binsar Pandjaitan said that ISF 2024 includes five main pillars needed to achieve sustainable development.
“The five main pillars needed to achieve sustainable development are energy transition, green industry, biodiversity and nature conservation, sustainable living, and the blue economy,” he explained.
This forum also covers the main drivers of sustainable development in the financial & non-financial fields covering Green Finance & Carbon Pricing, Technology, human resources, and international policies & collaborations, which is expected to be the largest sustainability conference in Indonesia and the world, will bring together policy makers, experts, and investors from all over the world to discuss various important issues related to sustainability and the green economy.
Meanwhile, Deputy for Infrastructure and Transportation Coordination, Rachmat Kaimuddin, said that the importance of ISF 2024 as the main platform to bring together world leaders, ministers, and experts from various sectors.
“ISF 2024 is designed to be a forum that not only discusses sustainability issues, but also offers real solutions through plenary sessions and in-depth thematic discussions,” he said.
Some of the strategic topics that will be raised include energy transition, blue economy, green finance, and sustainable technology.
On the other hand, Acting Head of the Meteorology, Climatology and Geophysics Agency (BMKG), Dwikorita Karnawati highlighted that as an anticipatory effort so that the event runs smoothly and safely, BMKG is preparing a Weather Modification Operation.
Dwikorita also added that BMKG has a strong commitment to support the smooth running of the entire series of the International Sustainability Forum.
“We are ready to fully support, and if there is an opportunity, we invite related parties to visit the BMKG headquarters, where we will show complete and accurate data,” he said.
For your information, in addition to discussion and plenary sessions, ISF 2024 will also present an exhibition showcasing the latest innovations and solutions in the field of sustainability. This initiative reflects Indonesia’s efforts to show the international community that the country is ready to lead the transition to a green economy and global sustainability.
