Jakarta – Thousands of joint personnel from the Indonesian National Armed Forces (TNI), the Indonesian National Police (Polri), and the Public Order Agency (Satpol PP) held a joint roll call as a precautionary measure against potential security disturbances following the demonstrations that have been ongoing since August 25, 2025. The demonstrations, which demanded a number of policies from members of the House of Representatives (DPR), sparked unrest in various regions, including Jakarta, resulting in casualties and damage to public facilities.

The Jakarta Military Commander, Major General Deddy Suryadi, led the troop departure roll call. He emphasized that the patrols aim to provide a sense of security for all Jakarta residents.

“We have deployed TNI (Indonesian National Armed Forces) and Polri (National Police) troops to secure Jakarta and its surrounding areas. There are five areas: Central, North, South, West, and East Jakarta,” said Major General Deddy.

Despite carrying complete equipment, the joint patrol still prioritizes a humanist approach by conducting dialogue and providing direct appeals to the community.

Meanwhile, the police emphasized that any form of anarchic action that disturbs public order will be dealt with firmly according to procedure.

“The Indonesian National Armed Forces (TNI) and the Indonesian National Police (Polri) have been put on full alert in the field. We guarantee that we will act professionally, responsibly, and in accordance with applicable legal procedures while upholding human rights,” said Deputy Chief of Police Commissioner General Dedi Prasetyo.

These large-scale patrols were carried out following the escalation of demonstrations, which often resulted in clashes and looting of officials’ homes and public facilities. Following the roll call, all TNI and Polri personnel were deployed at strategic locations in Jakarta to ensure the smooth running of public activities and prevent potential further unrest.

Not only in Jakarta, the TNI-Polri synergy is also strengthened at the regional level, as is the case in West Java.

West Java Regional Police Chief Inspector General Rudi Setiawan received the Commander of the III/Siliwangi Military Command, Major General Kosasih, at West Java Regional Police Headquarters. The meeting affirmed a shared commitment to maintaining security, public order, and stability.

“We are ready to strengthen coordination and collaboration with the Commander of the III/Siliwangi Military Command and his staff to maintain security in West Java, especially in addressing national and regional issues. The solidarity of the TNI and Polri is a strong bulwark of national unity,” said the West Java Police Chief.

Meanwhile, the Commander of the III/Siliwangi Military Command emphasized that the TNI and Polri will continue to strengthen synergy to ensure public security and order are maintained amidst evolving social dynamics.

“Together with the West Java Regional Police, we will always be present among the community, both in law enforcement, security, and social activities. This togetherness is a concrete manifestation of our commitment to the nation and state,” Major General Kosasih emphasized.

The presence of joint TNI-Polri patrols in various locations demonstrates the state’s firmness in ensuring security and providing protection for all citizens.
