Jakarta — Minister of Agriculture Andi Amran Sulaiman conveyed President Prabowo Subianto’s special directive regarding the acceleration of national food self-sufficiency. The President has set a target to achieve rice self-sufficiency within one year, a significant acceleration from the previous four-year timeline.

“Our dream is to achieve the President’s four-year self-sufficiency target within just one year — that’s a major leap we are making together. This acceleration requires support from all parties,” Amran stated.

In response, Kompas Research and Development (Litbang Kompas) researcher Agustina Perwanti noted that the public has shown positive appreciation for the government’s performance in the food sector, especially after the significant increase in national rice production.

“Based on the data we obtained, rice production has increased to 34 million tons this month, and this achievement has been well appreciated by the public,” said Agustina.

Beyond food self-sufficiency, Minister of Energy and Mineral Resources (ESDM) Bahlil Lahadalia highlighted two major achievements in the energy sector during the first year of the Prabowo Subianto–Gibran Rakabuming Raka (Pragib) administration — namely, oil and gas lifting and energy transition.

“In 2025, our oil lifting rose from only 580,000 barrels to 605,000 barrels per day. Meanwhile, the share of renewable energy in the total electricity mix increased from 11 percent to 15.5 percent,” Bahlil explained.

In the economic sector, Coordinating Minister for Economic Affairs Airlangga Hartarto reported several key achievements from the first year of the Pragib administration. Among them, Indonesia’s economy has continued to grow steadily above 5 percent, making it one of the fastest-growing economies among G20 countries.

“In the first year of the Pragib administration, Indonesia’s growth remained solid — above 5 percent. In the second quarter of 2025, growth reached 5.12 percent, which is among the highest in G20 countries,” Airlangga said in Jakarta recently.

He further revealed that this growth was supported by stable prices, maintained purchasing power, and a positive trade balance for 64 consecutive months throughout the past year under the Pragib administration.

“In the banking sector, the intermediation function is running well, with credit growth at 10–11 percent. Around 3.46 million MSME entrepreneurs, farmers, and fishermen have gained access to financing through the People’s Business Credit (KUR) program, while banking liquidity remains healthy,” Airlangga concluded.
