Opening the 10th WWF Bali, Jokowi: Indonesia’s Momentum to Strengthen Cooperation to Face Global Water Management Challenges
Nusa Dua, Bali – The 10th World Water Forum was officially opened by Indonesian President Joko Widodo at BICC, Nusa Dua Bali. In his opening remarks, Jokowi invited the world to join hands and increase collaboration in order to overcome the global challenge of water issues.
“The world can join hands to increase collaboration in overcoming the global challenge of water issues,” said President Jokowi.
Jokowi also said that Indonesia’s commitment to play a role in overcoming this water problem is in a sustainable manner.
Meanwhile, the President of the World Water Council (WWC), Loic Fauchon, said that the 10th WWF in Bali was an opportunity for increasing global water management cooperation.
“All relevant parties must encourage global water sustainability and support water sovereignty through changes in all aspects,” said Loïc Fauchon.
According to Fauchon, real action is needed to provide everyone with access to clean water. He also emphasized the importance of multilateral cooperation which is essential to maintain policies to strengthen global water security.
Previously, WWC President Loic Fauchon expressed his praise regarding the organization of the 10th WWF which was held in Indonesia.
He considered WWF’s preparations in Bali to be the most professional compared to previous WWF events.
“Since its inception 30 years ago, this is the most professional I have ever seen,” said Loic.
On the occasion of the opening event, Elon Musk appreciated the organization of the 10th WWF Summit. Elon Musk emphasizes the importance of water to the world’s future.
“The potential for solving all world problems related to water is very large considering the cooperation of various parties,” he said.
Elon also said that the water crisis could be resolved by implementing more sustainable policies. He also expressed his hope that all 10th WWF events would run smoothly.
Meanwhile, Deputy for Development Policy at the National Research and Innovation Agency (BRIN), Mego Pinandito, revealed that his party had created several schemes to invite collaboration and cooperation between developed and developing countries on the agenda of the 10th World Water Forum.

Separately, Head of the National Natural Resources Council Secretariat, Yunitta Chandra Sari, explained that the 10th WWF in Bali showed that Indonesia as part of the global community is committed to protecting and managing water resources.
“Let’s show the world that we as citizens of the global community have a strong and serious awareness and commitment to protecting and managing water as a valuable asset and must be preserved, for the survival of us and future generations,” he concluded.
Indonesia is already famous in the eyes of the world public for its success in holding international standard events.
The success of holding the previous G20 Summit, ASEAN Summit and AIS Summit has become a benchmark that Indonesia has the capability, both logistically and diplomatically, to hold a major global event.
