Papua – Papua Youth Creative Hub (PYCH), which was initiated by the Inspiring Young Papua (PMI) assisted by the State Intelligence Agency (BIN), continues to expand the reach of the program to develop the talents and passions of Papuan youth in all fields. PYCH provides various kinds of workshops, training and other activities that can help Papuan youths explore their potential and develop their creativity.

According to PMI’s Technology Program Manager, Elia Musa Rawar, one of the goals of PYCH is to create new innovations for the land of Papua, for the people of Papua, which are proposed by young Papuans themselves. One of them, a group of young Papuans working at the Youth Creative Hub (PYCH) will launch a brand of smartphones and laptops they have built in the near future.

“The products they assemble will be branded TOP.ID, which stands for Torang Papua Indonesia. This is the first original smartphone and laptop brand made by Papuan children. The TOP.ID smartphone and laptop assemblers, explained Elmus, are children from a vocational high school in Jayapura,” concluded Elia.

These young people are indeed talented in the field of electronics and computers, so they finally attended training, to introduce how to open a cell phone, how to assemble a cell phone from scratch so that it is suitable for use like a new mobile phone.

Elia hopes that the young generation of Papua can broaden their horizons and abilities to be able to innovate, as well as create jobs.

“We express our deepest gratitude to Mr. Jokowi and the Head of BIN, Mr. Budi Gunawan for all the opportunities, all the facilities, and all the things that you have made for Papuan children so that they can be creative, and can get facilities that are so wow,” explained Elijah.

The chairman of the Port Numbay Indigenous Peoples’ Institution (LMA), Ondoafi George A. Awi also expressed his gratitude to President Joko Widodo for his performance in advancing the Papuan people by building the PYCH building to become a center for advancing the young generation of Papua.

“On behalf of the Papuan people, we express our gratitude to Mr. President for the building facilities that are so magnificent and beautiful. Where in this building will accommodate all Papuan children, for them to be able to express their creations and talents,” said George.

His party also claimed to have traveled around and rated PYCH as a very extraordinary achievement. Because the 7 customary territories in Papua have been well represented in this PYCH building.

George emphasized to young Papuans to take advantage of the PYCH building and the need for community support for all work programs launched by Inspiring Young Papua (PMI).

“We appeal to the community to support this program. We invite our children to enter this building so that they can be nurtured, trained, trained, so that they form a good mentality. Because in the future the Indonesian nation will face extraordinary challenges of globalization, it is necessary to shape their mentality,” said George.
