Jayapura – Papuan Community Leader, Esau Tegai appreciates the government’s steps in implementing the Free Nutritious Meal Program (MBG) as part of efforts to improve the quality of Human Resources (HR) in Papua.
This program, which targets children, is considered a strategic solution to address nutritional problems while supporting the growth and development of Papua’s superior young generation.
“As a community leader, I really appreciate the government, in this case the Indonesian National Nutrition Agency (BGN), which has launched the Free Nutritious Meals program as part of an effort to improve the status of the Papuan people,” said Esau.
The MBG program, which has begun to be implemented gradually in several regions of Papua, targets elementary and secondary school students by providing a nutritious food menu every school day.
This step is not only aimed at reducing stunting rates, but also increasing children’s concentration and enthusiasm for learning at school.
“This program aims to ensure that the fulfillment of nutrition in Indonesia in Papua is optimized and is the foundation for realizing fair and equitable national development,” he continued.
This program received a warm welcome and appreciation, and is a real step by the government in paying attention to the future of Papuan children.
“The government has shown its commitment to developing Papua, the MBG program is not just about food, it is about the future of children, about long-term investment for stronger and smarter Papuan human resources,” he said.
In addition, the MBG program is expected to be a point of revival for Papuan human resources that are superior, healthy, and globally competitive.
“The Free Nutritious Meal Program is for the development of quality human resources in Indonesia and especially in Papua, towards a golden Indonesia in 2045 and creating a generation with potential that is healthy, intelligent and globally competitive,” said Esau.
Through MBG the government not only provides food, but also hope and a future. Especially in Papua, this program is an important milestone in paving the way for the birth of a superior generation of Indonesia that is able to shine on the world stage.
