PDIP National Working Meeting, Megawati Leads Indonesia to Victory towards the 2024 Election
Jakarta – PDI-P General Chair Megawati Soekarnoputri emphasized that Indonesian society can be just and prosperous through food. According to Megawati, Indonesia should be seen as an archipelagic country rich in natural resources (SDA). This was conveyed by the Secretary General of the PDI Perjuangan (PDIP) Hasto Kristiyanto at the PDIP DPP, Menteng, Central Jakarta.
“Because Bung Karno’s goal of building a sovereign Indonesia in the food sector was put forward very gallantly, that food is a matter of life and death for the country,” said Hasto.
Hasto said, for PDIP Chairman Megawati Soekarnoputri, Indonesian society can be just and prosperous only from food on land and in the sea.
“How great Indonesia is, we should see all the authentic things about the richness of our archipelago. “Bu Mega has repeatedly said that Indonesian society can be just and prosperous only from food that is on land and in the sea,” added Hasto.
Hasto continued, the sea has united Indonesia, so Bung Karno said that Indonesia is a maritime country with many islands.
“So our perspective should be the perspective of making the sea the path to our future, the path to our prosperity,” explained Hasto.
Megawati, according to Hasto, hopes that the PDIP National Working Meeting can be useful for society.
“It is hoped that the IV National Working Meeting will be of benefit to the Indonesian people and there, the PDI Perjuangan offers a narrative about the future, far more important than individual people as to who will be the presidential or vice presidential candidate,” he said.
This National Working Meeting makes farmers and fishermen the main pillars in Indonesia’s agricultural and maritime development. This development relies on mastery of science, research and innovation to realize food independence.
“So, Mrs. Megawati will convey food politics as our main concern,” continued Hasto.
Secretary of the South Sulawesi PDIP DPW, Rudy Pieter Goni, added that the discussion at the National Working Meeting was also related to strategic matters regarding winning the Legislative and Presidential Elections.
“Of course what steps we are taking and need to be addressed in 2024,” said Rudy.
The IV PDIP National Working Meeting was held from 29 September to 1 October 2023 with the theme “Food Sovereignty for People’s Welfare” at JI-Expo Kemayoran, Central Jakarta. Apart from Megawati, the PDIP National Working Meeting was also attended by President Joko Widodo and Vice President Ma’ruf Amin.
