President Prabowo Instructs Acceleration of CASN and PPPK Appointments
Jakarta – The Government of the Republic of Indonesia is accelerating the appointment of State Civil Apparatus Candidates (CASN) for the 2024 budget year as part of efforts to strengthen the bureaucracy and increase the effectiveness of public services.
Minister of State Secretary (Mensesneg), Prasetyo Hadi said that the appointment of CPNS will be completed no later than June 2025, while the first and second stages of PPPK are targeted for completion in October 2025.
“The appointment of CASN is accelerated, namely CPNS will be completed no later than June 2025, while all PPPK will be completed no later than October 2025. The completion of this appointment must be carried out according to the readiness of each ministry, institution, and regional government in meeting existing requirements,” explained Prasetyo.
He emphasized that this acceleration is not only about opening up employment opportunities, but also to ensure that public services run more optimally and provide the greatest possible benefits to the community.
Prasetyo also appealed to all government agencies to uphold the values of meritocracy in implementing the appointment of CASN.
Likewise, the Head of the Presidential Communications Office (PCO), Hasan Nasbi emphasized that the process of appointing candidates for state civil servants (CASN) must be carried out carefully and not in a hurry. He emphasized that ASN is the backbone of the nation who plays a role as public servants.
“CASN is a public servant, a public servant. So the ‘backbone’ of our nation. To be honest, a political person (position) like me, it can disappear in five years. Never mind five years, six months, three months can also disappear. But ASN, he will be there for decades,” said Hasan.
According to him, unlike political positions such as ministers or heads of institutions, ASN serve for a long period of time. Therefore, the government needs to conduct a job analysis to ensure that CASN placement is according to needs.
Hasan said that the government is currently reviewing various inputs from the public regarding the appointment of CASN. He emphasized that this step is important so that the decisions taken are truly in accordance with the needs of public services in various agencies.
“Because the government has a plan, but there are inputs from the public, so this must be studied, must be formulated, must be simulated according to the needs. Whether it is in accordance with public services later. When we have found the formulation, then it can be announced,” he explained. The government is committed to ensuring that the appointment of CASN is carried out appropriately in order to support the effectiveness of public services in the long term.
