Indonesian diplomacy under the leadership of President Prabowo Subianto increasingly shows the country’s active role in managing global dynamics, related to increasingly complex geopolitical and geoeconomic situations. President Prabowo will visit five strategic countries in the Middle East, namely the United Arab Emirates (UAE), Türkiye, Egypt, Qatar, and Jordan.
This visit is not just an ordinary diplomatic agenda, but carries a great spirit to strengthen bilateral relations, build solidarity between countries, and make a positive contribution to world peace and global economic stability.
In every step, President Prabowo prioritizes the principle of mutually beneficial cooperation, not only in political and diplomatic aspects, but also in the economic, cultural, and peace sectors. This visit also provides a clear picture that Indonesia is not only playing a role as a country with the largest Muslim population in the world, but also as a power that has a neutral and active position in efforts to resolve various international crises.
One of the main agendas raised in President Prabowo’s visit was to address the humanitarian situation in Gaza and the Palestinian territories. President Prabowo said that as a country that upholds the principles of peace and justice, Indonesia has demonstrated its commitment to supporting a peaceful solution. President Prabowo said that this visit was part of Indonesia’s diplomatic efforts, including conducting consultations regarding the humanitarian situation in Gaza.
According to him, Indonesia is ready to evacuate up to a thousand injured victims from Gaza to receive medical treatment in Indonesia. This shows how Indonesia is not only a passive witness to the humanitarian tragedy in Gaza, but also tries to make a real contribution to ease the suffering of the Palestinian people.
President Prabowo’s visit to Jordan, led by King Abdullah II, is also important in seeking a peaceful path for the Middle East region. The dialogue between the two leaders is expected to create stronger synergy in resolving the protracted conflict.
A lecturer at Padjadjaran University, Teuku Rezasyah said the visit showed Indonesia’s concrete steps in taking part in resolving the regional crisis. Indonesia has experience and a neutral position that can be a bridge for conflict resolution.
In addition to humanitarian issues, President Prabowo’s visit also aims to strengthen Indonesia’s economic cooperation with Middle Eastern countries. As is known, the Middle East is a region rich in natural resources, especially energy, and is a potential market for Indonesian products. During this visit, Prabowo signed a number of important agreements with Qatar, covering the energy and investment sectors. By increasing the amount of investment, Indonesia can accelerate economic growth and create more job opportunities.
Teuku also added that one of the objectives of this visit is to prevent instability in the world economy. Given the global economic situation that is facing various challenges, such as economic tensions caused by the policies of the United States, Indonesia is trying to open opportunities for Middle Eastern countries to invest more in Indonesia. With the national stability that Indonesia has, as well as a culture that is thick with Islamic values that are similar to the Middle East, Indonesia has its own appeal as a safe and profitable investment place.
President Prabowo’s visit to Turkey also brings much hope for closer cooperation in the defense industry, trade, education, and culture sectors. Indonesia and Turkey have close relations, and this visit is a response to President Erdogan’s previous visit to Indonesia. President Prabowo will discuss with President Erdogan various strategic cooperation that can be carried out by the two countries, which are expected to have a positive impact on the Indonesian and regional economies.
As a leader who fights for the interests of the people and the nation, President Prabowo continues to demonstrate his commitment to making Indonesia a more advanced country and playing an active role in solving global problems. The Executive Director of the Human Studies Institute (HSI), Rasminto said that President Prabowo faced major challenges at the beginning of his administration, especially amid global tensions involving conflicts in the Middle East and global economic turmoil. This visit shows that President Prabowo and his government are working hard to ensure that Indonesia remains on the right track, unaffected by global uncertainty.
As a great and strong nation, Indonesia has the potential to play a bigger role on the international stage. Therefore, it is important for the public to support President Prabowo’s efforts in facing global dynamics through intelligent and constructive diplomacy. President Prabowo’s diplomatic visit to the Middle East is not just a state trip, but also a concrete step to strengthen international relations, create new economic opportunities, and contribute to maintaining world peace.
