Respect the Electoral Process by Supporting the Inaugurated Regional Leaders

Jakarta – The inauguration of regional heads is an important part of the democratic process that must be respected by all elements of society.
With the inauguration of new leaders, local governments can begin their work immediately and provide the best services to the people.
Vice Chairman of the People’s Consultative Assembly (MPR) of Indonesia, Eddy Soeparno, fully supports the decision made by President Prabowo Subianto to hold the inauguration of the regional heads on February 20, 2025.
According to him, this decision is the best solution to ensure legal certainty and make sure that public services are not hindered.
“President Prabowo wants the people to receive services from a definitive leader as soon as possible. At the same time, he respects the Constitutional Court’s decision and the ongoing Pilkada dispute process,” said Eddy.
Eddy emphasized that the inauguration of regional heads must prioritize the public’s interests.
With a leader officially in place, regional policies can be implemented immediately.
“The sooner the regional leaders start working for the people, the better. As long as the inauguration is in line with the regulations, we must respect and support the government’s decision,” he added.
At the regional level, support for the newly inaugurated regional heads was also expressed by Acting Governor of Riau, Rahman Hadi.
While leading a flag-raising ceremony with all Riau Provincial Government employees, he stressed the importance of government apparatus’ readiness to embrace the new leadership.
“Therefore, I remind all Riau Provincial Government employees to be ready to work under the leadership of the newly inaugurated regional head,” he said.
Rahman Hadi explained that regional programs must align with national policies so that development can proceed optimally.
“There are several regional programs that need to be adjusted to national policies. This is a concern for the central government to ensure that the development vision progresses in line with each other,” he explained.
He also emphasized that all employees must work professionally to support the success of the new leadership.
Meanwhile, Head of the Public Information and Documentation Bureau (PID) at the Indonesian National Police, Brigadier General Tjahyono Saputro, called on all elements of society to respect the decisions made by the General Elections Commission (KPU) regarding the results of the 2024 Simultaneous Pilkada.
According to him, accepting the election results is key to maintaining national unity and stability.
“We urge the public, religious leaders, and youth figures to continue encouraging the public to accept the results of the election that has been conducted well,” said Tjahyono.
He also emphasized that in a democracy, differences are natural. However, what is most important is how all elements of society come together to rebuild the nation.
