Retreat Forms a Culture of Mutual Support between Central and Regional Governments
Jakarta – In an effort to strengthen synergy between the central and regional governments, the regional head retreat activity has become an important agenda initiated by the government. This activity is designed as a forum for providing and strengthening collaboration for newly inaugurated regional leaders, with the aim of creating harmony in the implementation of government throughout Indonesia.
The Governor of the Riau Islands, Ansar Ahmad, emphasized that the retreat held at the Magelang Military Academy (Akmil), Central Java, has a vital role in strengthening synergy between regional heads and the central government. According to him, this briefing not only functions as an orientation, but also as a forum for regional heads to understand national strategic policies and strengthen national insight.
“This briefing is not just an orientation, but is a forum for us regional heads to understand national strategic policies, and strengthen national insight,” he said.
Meanwhile, Constitutional Law Expert from the Muslim University of Indonesia Makassar, Fahri Bachmid, assessed that the retreat activity has a strong legal basis for aligning interests between the central and regional governments. According to him, this retreat is an urgent and strategic government program, aimed at equipping leaders with a deep understanding of their duties and responsibilities, as well as building synergy in running the government within the framework of the Unitary State of the Republic of Indonesia (NKRI).
“I see that the retreat activities have a solid ‘legal basis’,” said Fahri.
This retreat activity does not only focus on providing material, but also creates a healthy dialogue space between regional heads. Regional leaders can share experiences and best practices in managing government. Various successes achieved in one region can be used as inspiration for other regions to be adopted according to the characteristics of their respective regions. Thus, synergy does not only occur between the center and regions, but also between regions.
This retreat activity also deserves to be appreciated as a progressive step in building harmonious communication between the central and regional governments. With direct provision from ministers and open discussions between regional heads, this retreat is a strategic forum to improve coordination, strengthen synergy, and align the vision of national development. Through this activity, regional leaders not only gain new insights, but also build a collaborative spirit to create more effective policies that side with the community.
The regional head retreat is a strategic investment effort for the future of Indonesia’s development. By producing quality regional heads, the government creates a solid foundation for accelerating national development. Harmonious collaboration between the central and regional governments is expected to produce effective governance, optimal public services, and a prosperous society.
