Running for Chairman of PSSI, Erick Thohir: Ready to Eradicate the Mafia


Jakarta — The Minister of SOEs, Erick Thohir has officially submitted himself as a candidate for the PSSI chairman in the period from 2023 to 2027.

Not only has he nominated himself as the head of the country’s football organization, but he also said he was ready to clean up PSSI.

According to him, the world of Indonesian football which is clean and at the same time achieving is very important.

“We are brave for clean football and also football with achievements is the most important. We make sure there are no dirty hands in Indonesian football,” he said.

It is known that as many as 60 voters were present when Erick Thohir submitted a form regarding his availability to lead PSSI at Gelora Bung Karno last Sunday (15/1).

It was not half-hearted, even the supporters came from football club owners and famous people, such as Kaesang Pangarep from Persis Solo, Teddy Tjahjono from Persib Bandung.

Then there is Hendri Zainudin, President of Sriwijaya FC, Raffi Ahmad, owner of Rans Nusantara FC, to Gen Halilintar from Bekasi City FC.

The SOE Minister stated that so far many football supporters in Indonesia have admitted to being very disappointed.

This is because even before the match, the final result of the game has been determined and known.

With all the complexity and complexity that exists in football in Indonesia, Erick Thohir admits that all of these things deserve to be fixed.

“Many fans are disappointed why? Before playing, you already know the result. That’s why the fans are angry because they haven’t played and already know the results. This is the complexity in Indonesian football that we have to make improvements without accusing who is wrong and who is right,” he said.

For information, Erick Thohir himself has been in the world of sports for a long time, including football.

How could it not be, because he is a former owner or president of several foreign football clubs such as DC United in the United States and Inter Milan in Italy.
