Security Officials Ensure that WWF Implementation in Bali Runs Safely

Bali – Indonesia will host the 10th World Water Forum (WWF) from 18 to 25 May 2024 in Nusa Dua, Bali. A number of countries will send delegations to the largest international meeting in the water sector. In order to ensure security during the event, a number of preparations have been made by the central and regional governments, as well as in terms of security, both hotels and venues visited by WWF participants.

Regarding this matter, the Head of Command Post Command Center 91 for the 2024 Puri Agung Operation, Brigadier General Pol Muhammad Firman, said that the police continued to increase security for the 10th WWF through the 2024 Puri Agung Operation.

“Operation Puri Agung is a centralized police operation, where this operation with Sandi Puri Agung was deliberately formed, to ensure security maintenance carried out during the World Water Forum Summit,” he said.

He continued that the thousands of National Police personnel who took part in securing the 10th WWF were completely controlled through Command Post Command Center 91.

The Dansatgas, added Brigadier General Muhammad Firman, can directly monitor every activity that occurs. He also revealed that the security object also included the delegates’ accommodation.

“Then to monitor security activities, not only the objects of the activity, but also at the objects where the delegates will stay,” he said.

On different occasions, security for WWF events was also carried out in the Nusa Dua area where the international event took place.

“Reflecting on the successful security system for large events such as the G20, the party also always coordinates with the TNI-Polri and other security elements. “As well as the participation of regional buffer villages and all levels of society to support and make the WWF event in Bali a success,” said I Putu Gede Warga, Chief Security Officer of ITDC Nusa Dua.

Several hotels in the ITDC area are used as accommodation for VVIP/VIP guests. In this WWF activity, apart from the Nusa Dua area, there are also places outside such as the Conrad Hotel, Mercure, Intercontinental and The Patra Kuta Tuban which are used by Heads of State or delegates who attend.

“In the ITDC area itself, there are around 15 hotels that are used as accommodation for VVIP/VIP guests and the ITDC has coordinated with the GM and Chief Security of each hotel to improve the security system and comfort of the delegates, both for the people and luggage of the Heads of State and Delegates present.” -he said
