Soon to be Inaugurated by Jokowi, PYCH Building Supports Papuan Youth Creativity
Jayapura – Secretary of Papua Young Inspirational (PMI) Papua Province Vitha Faidiban expressed his gratitude and gratitude to Indonesian President Joko Widodo and Head of BIN Budi Gunawan for their support for the construction of the Papua Youth Creative Hub (PYCH) building.
“On behalf of PMI, I would like to thank Mr. President Jokowi and Mr. Head of BIN Budi Gunawan. This is a very extraordinary building and it helps us young Papuans to be creative and innovate,” said Vitha.
According to him, the PYCH building was built magnificently and accompanied by complete facilities to be able to support the interests, talents and creativity of the young generation of Papua.
“The building will be used by PMI in carrying out its work programs for the welfare of the people in Papua and West Papua. PMI will collaborate with a number of parties, develop themselves and continue to be a driving force for the development of young human resources in Cendrawasih Earth,” continued Vitha
This building has a main building consisting of two floors and two dormitory buildings. There are rooms for MSME products, training rooms, meeting rooms, multipurpose rooms, rooms that can be used for co-working spaces, technology learning rooms to libraries. There is also a grandstand-shaped room with a capacity of more than 300 people. This room can be used for performances, religious, cultural and others.
Later, each room will be equipped with internet speed of 100 Mbps with symmetrical 1:1 upstream downstream bandwidth. There is also CCTV up to the control room. Of course, with such fast internet capacity, it will make it easier for Papuan youths to be able to improve their human resources so they can compete with other youths in Indonesia.
Besides the main building, there are sports facilities such as futsal and basketball courts. The PMI head office is also located in the building to facilitate communication and coordination with stakeholders and Papuan youth who wish to develop themselves in various fields.
Meanwhile, the Head of the Papua Region Settlement Infrastructure Center, Directorate General of Cipta Karya, Ministry of PUPR, Corneles Sagrim, said that the PYCH building was ready to be inaugurated by the President of the Republic of Indonesia.
“As of today the construction has been completed. Facilities in the main building have places for example for learning, exhibitions, libraries, co-working spaces, cafes, small businesses, libraries, offices, pantries and so on,” said Sagrim.
Sagrim stated that this building was ready to be inaugurated by President Jokowi in March 2023. The PYCH building was built with a green building concept that utilizes natural energy, such as lighting and wind. Meanwhile, the architectural design of the roof of the main building was inspired by the traditional houses of the people of Jayapura and Wamena City, namely the Honai roof and Kariwari roof.
The PYCH building will be a place for young talents in Papua to develop rapidly. In addition, PYCH can play a role as a center for creativity for Papuan youth in the creative industries, health, MSMEs, education and various other activities that support the development of human resources for the young generation of Papua.
In addition to inaugurating the PYCH Building in Jayapura Regency, President Jokowi plans to hold a video conference with farmers, ranchers, creative industry players assisted by PMI and BIN in several areas in Papua such as corn farming in Sitori Village, Kab. Tambrauw Southwest Papua, laying hens farm Jayapura Regency, Pig farm Owned by Albert Burwas Manokwari Regency West Papua, PMI Cattle Workshop Bomberay district Kab. Fak – Fak, and SMEs from the Studio and Gallery of the Generation of End Times (GAZ) Kab. Merauke.
