Palangkaraya – In support of President Prabowo Subianto’s vision to create a healthy and prosperous society, the Bhayangkara Hospital Level III Palangka Raya, in collaboration with the Public Relations Division (Bidhumas) of the Central Kalimantan Police (Polda Kalteng), held a socialization event with the theme “Be Wise in Social Media and the Dangers of Online Gambling.”

This event aimed to raise awareness among both police personnel and the public about the negative impacts of online gambling, which is becoming increasingly prevalent in the digital world.

The Deputy Head of Bhayangkara Hospital Level III Palangka Raya, Commissioner of Police Dr. Budi Satria, Sp. DVE., who represented the Head of Bhayangkara Hospital AKBP Dr. Anton Sudarto, emphasized the importance of caution in social media usage.

“Social media is a platform that has a very significant influence, both positive and negative. Therefore, we must be wise in using it to avoid harmful practices like online gambling, which can ruin the lives of many people,” said Dr. Budi Satria.

Dr. Budi Satria also added that many people, especially the younger generation, still do not fully understand the dangers of online gambling. This could be due to the frequent appearance of advertisements or promotions on social media that seem harmless.

“We want to provide a broader understanding of how online gambling can destroy a person’s mental health and economy, and how to protect oneself from falling into it,” he added.

This socialization event also featured a key speaker, the Head of the Virtual Police Team at Bidhumas Polda Kalteng, Ipda H. Samsudin, S.HI., M.H. He conveyed that the fight against online gambling requires the active role of all community elements.

“Online gambling is no longer something that can be taken lightly. Its impact is very broad, especially for families and communities. We invite the public to work together to eliminate this practice, including reporting any unusual advertisements or promotions on social media,” stressed Ipda Samsudin.

The socialization event served as an important platform to spread wider information about the dangers of online gambling and the importance of wise social media usage.

Education about the dangers of online gambling and responsible use of social media is highly relevant to the government’s efforts to create a more digitally literate society and protect it from the negative influences of the digital world. Through this initiative, security forces hope to foster collective awareness in avoiding online gambling practices that harm many parties.
