Throughout Indonesia’s democratic journey, security stability has always been the primary foundation for maintaining national and state life. Political, social, and economic dynamics often give rise to various forms of public aspirations, including through demonstrations. However, the expression of these aspirations must be within the law to avoid harming the interests of the wider community. A safe and orderly situation is not only the responsibility of the security forces, but also of all elements of the nation, including civil society. Close collaboration between the TNI, Polri, and citizens is key to creating national peace.

National Police Chief General Listyo Sigit Prabowo emphasized that the National Police will not tolerate riots that harm the public. Law enforcement, he stated, will be carried out professionally, measuredly, and will prioritize the principles of human rights. In this regard, the TNI and Polri are taking firm action in accordance with applicable laws and regulations. General Sigit added that firm action is not only to punish lawbreakers, but also to maintain national stability and provide a sense of security for all citizens. He emphasized that expressing aspirations remains protected by law, but must be done in an orderly manner and with respect for the public interest.

The National Police Chief’s statement demonstrates that democratic space in Indonesia remains wide open to the public. However, this freedom must not be abused by committing anarchic acts that have the potential to damage public facilities, cause economic losses, or disrupt social order. If aspirations are expressed in a healthy and constructive manner, the government will certainly listen and act on them according to established mechanisms. Therefore, a balance between freedom and responsibility must be maintained to create harmony in national life.

Deputy National Police Chief Commissioner General Dedi Prasetyo emphasized that the presence of Indonesian National Armed Forces (TNI) and Indonesian National Police (Polri) personnel in the field is clear evidence of the two institutions’ firm commitment to maintaining national order. He stated that the officers’ primary goal is not merely to prosecute violations, but to quickly and comprehensively restore security. This step is crucial to quickly restore the public’s sense of security when disturbances occur. Commissioner General Dedi also reminded the public that the public plays a crucial role in maintaining stability, as security is a shared responsibility, not solely the responsibility of the security forces.

In the same context, the Head of the Indonesian National Armed Forces Information Center (Kapuspen TNI), Brigadier General TNI (Mar) Freddy Ardianzah, emphasized that the TNI is ready to take firm action against perpetrators of vandalism of public facilities, vital objects, or looting. According to him, “firm” action must be understood as clear, targeted, and without hesitation. Meanwhile, the term “measured” means that the action complies with the law, is carried out proportionally, and is not excessive. Freddy emphasized that the TNI will not hesitate to take action against any attempt to disrupt national peace, while maintaining a balance to ensure that the rights of the public are respected.

Furthermore, Freddy also appealed to the public to express their aspirations peacefully, without violence or destruction. He emphasized that the public’s voice is always heard by the government and the legislature, so there is no need for undue concern. This appeal reflects that the authorities are not the ones who close down democratic space, but rather maintain it so that it remains conducive. With an orderly situation, public aspirations can be fully conveyed without causing unrest. The presence of the Indonesian National Armed Forces (TNI) and the Indonesian National Police (Polri) actually guarantees security for a healthy democracy.

Support for national stability comes not only from the authorities, but also from civil society. Michael Umbas, Chairman of the Central Executive Board (DPP) of Arus Bawah Prabowo (ABP), urged the public not to be easily provoked and to maintain brotherhood amidst the dynamics of demonstrations. ABP volunteers affirmed their support for the TNI and Polri in maintaining national stability. According to Michael, every law enforcement measure must be carried out with professionalism, proportionality, and clear measures to remain fair and transparent. This will make the public feel protected and prevent fear.

Michael added that the authorities’ top priority is maintaining public order and preventing social unrest. He reminded the public to be wise in responding to the situation and not to blindly believe provocative rumors circulating, especially if their truth cannot be verified. By prioritizing a critical and rational approach, the public can help mitigate the negative impact of disinformation and agitation circulating in the public sphere. The presence of volunteers and community leaders in supporting stability demonstrates that national security is a collective responsibility.

More than simply maintaining security, unity between the community and the authorities also holds strategic value in ensuring Indonesia’s continued progress. A conducive climate allows for smooth development, a secure investment climate, and continued economic growth. When security is disrupted by anarchic actions or provocations, the negative impact is felt not only by the government but also by the entire community. Therefore, maintaining stability must be seen as part of a joint effort to improve the nation’s prosperity.

Therefore, collaboration between the community, the Indonesian National Armed Forces (TNI), and the Indonesian National Police (Polri) in maintaining security is non-negotiable. Every citizen needs to recognize that order is fundamental to continuing development and strengthening democracy. Aspirations may be voiced, but they must be within legal frameworks that uphold national unity and interests. Only in this way can Indonesia face the challenges of the times without losing its way.

Ultimately, a safe and orderly atmosphere is not merely an end in itself, but rather a prerequisite for this nation to move further towards progress. The unity of the community, the TNI and the Polri, is a concrete manifestation of the national spirit that must be continuously maintained. By maintaining stability, we not only protect today’s generation but also ensure Indonesia’s bright future. Brotherhood, peace, and togetherness are the most valuable legacies to be passed on to future generations.
