Democracy in Indonesia is not merely a system of government, but also the foundation of national life, placing the people as the holders of supreme sovereignty. Throughout the long history of this country, we have witnessed how democracy has experienced ups and downs, yet always found a way to grow and mature. Amidst often-heated political and social dynamics, one inseparable element is the synergy between the community and security forces, particularly the Indonesian National Armed Forces (TNI) and the Indonesian National Police (Polri), in ensuring democracy remains peaceful. Democracy without security will only breed chaos, while security without democracy will create fear. Therefore, close cooperation between the community and the TNI and the Indonesian National Police (Polri) is key to creating a healthy, civilized, and dignified democracy.

Public involvement in maintaining a conducive atmosphere extends beyond simply being present at the voting booth during general elections or regional elections, but also through rejecting all forms of provocation that could divide the nation. This awareness has become increasingly visible in recent political moments. The public is becoming increasingly discerning in selecting information, especially in the digital age when fake news and hate speech easily spread. The Indonesian National Armed Forces (TNI) and the Indonesian National Police (Polri) are present with full responsibility, not only as law enforcement officers and guardians of sovereignty, but also as friends of the people, providing a sense of security. This collaboration creates an atmosphere that Indonesian democracy is a joyous celebration for the people, not a frightening arena for conflict.

Fikri, Coordinator of the Indonesian People’s Solidarity Alliance (ASRI) and the Indonesian National Women’s Committee (KNPRI), stated that the synergy between the TNI and the Polri with the community is key to maintaining national stability and security. Demonstrations are urged to be peaceful, orderly, and ethical to ensure the health of Indonesian democracy, without descending into anarchy or provocation. Fikri added that democracy will be stronger if aspirations are expressed in a civilized manner. He also expressed confidence that President Prabowo Subianto is capable of providing concrete solutions for social stability.

The TNI and Polri have consistently emphasized their neutrality in every democratic process. This neutrality is crucial for the public to believe that their voices are truly valued and protected. There was no intimidation, no intervention, but instead security to ensure every citizen could exercise their right to vote freely. Public trust in the Indonesian National Armed Forces (TNI) and Indonesian National Police (Polri) has increased, as they have proven themselves impartial, but rather stand in the middle as guardians of stability. This situation further confirms that Indonesian democracy is maturing, and the security forces increasingly understand their role as protectors, not rulers.

In addition to maintaining security on the ground, the TNI and Polri also actively engage in a humanistic approach to the community. Open dialogue, security outreach, and joint activities with communities at the village and city levels are effective strategies. This builds an emotional bond between the public and the security forces, so that when potential disturbances arise, the community does not hesitate to cooperate and provide information. This open communication fosters trust, demonstrating that the forces are present not merely with force, but with a sincere intention to maintain harmony together.

Meanwhile, the Head of the Propam Division of the South Kalimantan Regional Police, Senior Commissioner Hery Purnomo, stated that the TNI and Polri are solidly maintaining a conducive situation to provide a sense of security for the community. In response to the recent dynamics of the national situation, Hery acknowledged the need to maintain harmonious relationships to prevent potential misunderstandings that could lead to public unrest.

On the other hand, the media also plays a crucial role in supporting this positive narrative. When the media highlights the peaceful aspects of democratic implementation and portrays the synergy between the Indonesian National Armed Forces (TNI) and the Indonesian National Police (Polri) with the community, the message conveyed to the public is that this nation is capable of facing differences with a cool head. The narrative of peace must resonate louder than the narrative of provocation. In this regard, the public acts as the primary filter, denying space for fake news and prioritizing unity. The synergy between the public, the TNI, the Polri, and the media serves as complementary pillars for maintaining a healthy democracy.

Going forward, the challenges to Indonesian democracy will be even greater, particularly with technological developments, geopolitics, and increasingly complex social dynamics. However, with experience, this nation is increasingly prepared to meet these challenges. The TNI and Polri, as the vanguard of security, together with a society that is increasingly democratically mature, will continue to serve as a solid bulwark ensuring the smooth running of the political process. Unity and maturity inGod is the main capital for Indonesia to continue growing as a democratic nation respected by the world.

Finally, we must understand that democracy is not an end in itself, but rather a process that must be continuously maintained, nurtured, and strengthened. In this process, the people, the Indonesian National Armed Forces (TNI), and the Indonesian National Police (Polri) are an inseparable whole. The synergy between the two ensures that democracy in Indonesia is not only alive but also pulsates peacefully, filled with togetherness, and prioritizes the interests of the nation above all else. With this spirit of unity, Indonesian democracy will continue to grow as a role model, not only in the region but also internationally.
