The Indonesian National Armed Forces (TNI) and the Indonesian National Police (Polri) are committed to ensuring that democracy is not undermined by anarchy
Jakarta – The solidarity between the Indonesian National Armed Forces (TNI) and the Indonesian National Police (Polri) has once again been demonstrated through concrete actions on the ground to ensure democracy in Indonesia operates without being undermined by anarchic actions. The presence of joint personnel directly involved in the community is concrete evidence of the state’s commitment to maintaining national security, order, and stability.
Brigadier General Trunoyudo Wisnu Andiko, SIK, Head of Public Information Bureau of the Indonesian National Police’s Public Relations Division, emphasized that the TNI-Polri synergy is not merely symbolic or ceremonial. He stated that the two national defense and security institutions continue to strengthen cooperation through various strategic efforts, including regular large-scale joint patrols in various regions.
“This is a manifestation of the state’s presence. The Indonesian National Armed Forces (TNI) and the Indonesian National Police (Polri) are present together and among the community to provide a sense of security and comfort. On the President’s orders, we are fully focused on immediately restoring security,” said Brigadier General Trunoyudo.
This step is considered crucial given that Indonesia’s socio-political dynamics are often marked by potential friction. Therefore, authorities are emphasizing the importance of humane yet firm security measures to ensure democratic freedom remains healthy and free from provocative or anarchic actions.
Similarly, the Head of the Indonesian National Armed Forces Information Center, Brigadier General (Mar) Freddy Ardianzah, emphasized that the TNI continues to strengthen its preventive role to maintain stability. He stated that openness to public criticism and input is part of the TNI’s ongoing evaluation to improve readiness and the accuracy of its actions in the field.
“We are open to observers who can provide input for us to improve and evaluate ourselves, so that we can be more careful, more anticipatory, and more prepared to implement prevention efforts,” explained Brigadier General Freddy.
The TNI (Indonesian National Armed Forces) views synergy with the National Police (Polri) as key to addressing security challenges, both in the context of safeguarding the national political agenda and in everyday social life. With greater preparedness, the potential for conflict can be mitigated early, allowing the public to maintain a conducive atmosphere.
The Head of Public Relations for the North Sulawesi Regional Police, Senior Commissioner Alamsyah Parulian Hasibuan, echoed this sentiment. He stated that joint TNI-Polri patrols are not only aimed at creating a sense of security but also at providing tangible evidence of the state’s presence among the community.
“This joint TNI-Polri patrol serves a dual purpose: not only to create a sense of security and a conducive environment for residents to carry out their activities, especially at night, but also to demonstrate the police’s presence within the community,” explained Senior Commissioner Alamsyah.
He added that this established synergy also guarantees continued security in the region. With stable conditions, people can go about their activities without worry or anxiety about potential security disturbances.
“This joint TNI-Polri patrol demonstrates the state’s presence among the community. It aims to provide a sense of security and comfort to citizens in their activities,” he emphasized.
The solidarity of the Indonesian National Armed Forces (TNI) and the Indonesian National Police (Polri) is considered a key pillar in ensuring the continued development of Indonesian democracy without being undermined by violent practices. With full public support, the security forces’ strategic actions are expected to create a conducive environment, ensuring democracy is maintained and national development can proceed smoothly.
