BALI — The launch of Starlink at the 10th World Water Forum (WWF) is believed to have had a positive impact on the people of Bali.
Coordinating Minister for Maritime Affairs and Investment (Menko Marves RI), Luhut Binsar Pandjaitan said that the presence of Starlink had many positive impacts.
One of them is to enable various remote areas in Indonesia to experience reliable internet access.
With internet access, communication between the Central Government and remote or remote areas can be reached well.
So, it is not impossible that public services such as health and education will also be helped.
“Starlink will be launched by Elon later, with Starlink our communications in remote areas will be very good,” said Luhut.
“Later, health and education issues, I think it will help a lot,” he added.
Not only that, but according to the Coordinating Minister for Maritime Affairs and Fisheries, internet services from Starlink have cheaper costs.
“Yes, it’s cheaper. “Yes [it is used by the general public],” he said.
Likewise, the Ministry of Health also plans to use Elon Musk’s Starlink to provide internet access to health centers in remote areas.
DTO of the Ministry of Health, Setiadji, said that up to now there are still hundreds of community health centers in Indonesia that do not have internet service at all.
In fact, internet networks are very important for health facilities throughout Indonesia.
Moreover, the Ministry of Health wants digitalization to occur in the world of health throughout Indonesia so as to improve the quality of services.
“We plan to launch the use of Starlink together with Elon Musk to Bali on Sunday. We have already tried it, reaching 300 MB which is very fast. “Later on, we will try out the new Starlink in community health centers or supporting community health centers,” said Setiaji.
Meanwhile, the Executive Director of Indonesia Strategic Research, Cecep Hidayat, believes that the presence of low orbit satellites such as Satrlink in the telecommunications industry will also have a good impact.
According to him, the good impact of Starlink is that it can accelerate global network penetration even in remote areas.
In this way, there will be connectivity in remote areas to global information.
“The positive impact of Starlink’s presence is that it can accelerate broadband network penetration globally, especially in remote areas,” he explained.
“So that a region’s connectivity to global information will become easier,” said Cecep.
