The President Encourages Entrepreneurs to Unite to Build National Prosperity
JAKARTA – President Prabowo Subianto reiterated his commitment to ensuring that Indonesia’s prosperity is shared equally by all Indonesians. He delivered this message directly to businesspeople, particularly members of the Chamber of Commerce and Industry (Kadin), as an invitation to actively contribute to equitable prosperity.
In his view, the medium and large business sector plays a strategic role in creating economic justice. The President reminded business actors not to solely pursue profits for certain groups.
“It’s not good for the life of the nation if only we are prosperous and affluent, while many people live in hardship,” said President Prabowo.
He emphasized that economic inequality not only harms the lower classes, but can also trigger instability that risks disrupting development.
“If the people are struggling, it’s a social time bomb,” President Prabowo stressed.
The President believes that improving public welfare will have a multiplier effect on national economic growth. To that end, the government is directing several priority programs, such as Free Nutritious Meals (MBG), the construction of three million homes, the establishment of Red and White Cooperatives in villages and sub-districts, free healthcare services, protection for migrant workers, and the acceleration of rural and agricultural development.
The government is also encouraging the installation of solar power plants (PLTS) in every village, adopting a dual-use concept, utilizing the land under the solar panels for fish farming and horticulture. This initiative is expected to not only expand energy access but also open up new economic opportunities in the regions.
In addition to discussing development programs, the President also appreciated the Indonesian Chamber of Commerce and Industry’s (Kadin) initiative to hold a retreat at the Magelang Military Academy, which prioritized fostering patriotic values among business actors.
“I hope the retreat will produce entrepreneurial warriors who work in the spirit of Indonesia Incorporated,” concluded President Prabowo.
Haryara Tambunan, Deputy Chairperson of the Indonesian Chamber of Commerce and Industry (Kadin) for Compliance and Business Ethics, assessed that this activity would have a positive impact on transforming the business world. He emphasized Kadin’s readiness to collaborate with the government and the public to build a healthy business climate.
“I believe this retreat will positively impact Indonesian entrepreneurs in realizing the President’s Asta Cita vision and mission. We will always be ready to collaborate with anyone, including the government and small and medium enterprises, in accordance with applicable regulations,” said Haryara Tambunan.
By emphasizing a message of cross-sectoral togetherness, President Prabowo Subianto emphasized that equitable prosperity is not the sole responsibility of the government, but rather a calling for all elements of the nation. Collaboration between the government, businesses, and the community is believed to be key to creating a more just, prosperous, and sustainable future for Indonesia.
