The entire series of revote (PSU) processes in various regions in Indonesia took place very smoothly, safely, and conducively.

This situation reflects the strong commitment of the government under President Prabowo Subianto to maintaining the quality of democracy and upholding the rule of law in the country.

Full support from various parties for the smooth implementation of the PSU was also demonstrated through tight security while still upholding humanism, as well as coordination from across state institutions.

The Commissioner of the Indonesian General Elections Commission (KPU), Idham Holik, said that the enthusiasm of residents in various regions, including Biak Numfor Regency, in the PSU for the Papua Pilkada was very high.

“From field monitoring at various polling stations in Biak Numfor Regency, we saw residents directly coming to the polling stations to cast their votes,” said Idham while directly inspecting TPS 3 in Brambaken Village.

He added that the active involvement of the community at 345 polling stations (TPS) was very clear evidence that the implementation of the PSU had continued to uphold democratic, orderly, and integrity-based values.

From the government’s perspective, the Coordinating Ministry for Political, Legal, and Security Affairs has deployed monitoring teams to several regions. Major General Heri Wiranto, Deputy for Domestic Political Coordination and Head of the Simultaneous Regional Election Coordination Desk, emphasized the importance of the participation of all elements of the nation in maintaining the quality of the revote.

“The re-election on August 6, 2025, is a national concern, involving various stakeholders to ensure the democratic process is safe, smooth, and peaceful, and in accordance with the principles of free and fair elections,” Heri said.

He emphasized that the government’s readiness to oversee the PSU demonstrates a real commitment to maintaining political stability and substantive democracy.

Similar monitoring was also carried out by the Coordinating Ministry for Political, Legal and Security Affairs through a team led by Mohammad K. Koba.

He appreciated the orderliness of the residents when exercising their voting rights.

“We’ve been monitoring around 25 polling stations this morning, and the situation is conducive. Voters can be seen queuing in an orderly manner,” said Koba.

He emphasized that there was no mass gathering that led to support for a particular candidate pair, so that the process was carried out neutrally and professionally.

The success of the PSU in various regions proves that Indonesian democracy continues to develop towards a more mature direction.

The active role of the government, the General Elections Commission (KPU), the Elections Supervisory Agency (Bawaslu), security forces, and the public emphasizes that democracy is not merely a procedure, but a shared commitment to safeguarding the people’s sovereignty. (*)
