To make the 10th WWF a success, BIN and TNI-Polri increase security in Bali

Bali – The Indonesian National Army (TNI), the Indonesian National Police (Polri), and the State Intelligence Agency (BIN) were involved in securing the 10th World Water Forum or WWF in Bali.

In the world water forum which will be held from 18-25 May 2024, the role of intelligence has an important meaning in detecting all risks of security threats.

The existence of BIN in securing international events is not the first because the institution led by Police General (Ret.) Prof. Dr. Budi Gunawan, SH, M.Si., Ph.D. it has been involved in various state activities. Such as the G20 Summit, the 42nd ASEAN Summit in Labuan Bajo, the 43rd ASEAN Summit in Jakarta, and the AIS Summit in Bali.

It is hoped that the existence of BIN and other security institutions will be able to provide a sense of security to the community and the delegates present.

Regarding this matter, the Head of the National Police Traffic Corps (Kakorlantas) Inspector General Pol Aan Suhanan explained that the National Police Traffic Corps is ready to secure the traffic routes for state guests.

“We will join forces with friends from the TNI to escort the Head of State, or at the level of Head of State or representing the Head of State. “Later we will carry out BKO to Paspampres so that later the implementation will be for VVIP security under the control of TNI operations,” said Kakorlantas.

Furthermore, Kakorlantas also carried out traffic engineering at a number of points.

“In its implementation, the National Police will carry out some traffic engineering on several roads, such as the road that leads to the GWK, we will apply traffic engineering, then at the parking location there will be a buffer zone so that in the implementation later to the place or venue we will use a shuttle bus,” he explained.

Previously, the Indonesian Air Force Kopasgat had deployed dozens of sharpshooters or snipers to secure the 10th WWF.

“The Matan team itself and 24 snipers will be involved in the upcoming summit in Bali,” said Kopasgat I Command Wing Commander Colonel Pas Helmi A. Nange.

According to the Kopasgat I Command Wing Commander, the dozens of snipers were part of the 100 Kopasgat I Command Wing personnel who were sent to Bali to secure the 10th WWF.

Furthermore, Kopasgat I Command Wing Commander Helmi revealed that apart from sending personnel, Kopasgat also deployed various defense equipment. These include the Chiron Missile and Smart Hunter.

For your information, Chiron missiles were deployed to protect the airspace in Bali during WWF. The Smart Hunter, which is a radar detection tool, will be deployed to monitor activity in the air.

The presence of defense equipment and TNI-Polri personnel and BIN is expected to be able to optimize security before, during and after the implementation of the 10th WWF.
