WWF 2024 in Bali, Global Initiative for Sustainable Water Management

 Jakarta – Global stakeholders, especially in the water sector, gathered at the 10th World Water Forum (WWF) in Bali. The forum, which aims to explore innovative and collaborative solutions in overcoming water-related challenges, as well as promoting sustainable water management throughout the world, was held on 18-25 May 2024.

“The Indonesian government invites all parties to actively participate in the 10th World Water Forum. “Innovation and real contributions are really needed to realize a sustainable water future,” said Coordinating Minister for Maritime Affairs and Investment, Luhut Binsar Pandjaitan.

Previously, the Indonesian government targeted the 10th WWF to be attended by around 30,000–50,000 participants from various countries. So the ambassadors have an important role in socializing this world water forum event so that more participants can contribute.

In line with the Coordinating Minister for Maritime Affairs and Fisheries, the Minister of Public Works and Public Housing (PUPR), Basuki Hadimuljono, said that through the 10th WWF, the Indonesian Government is committed to encouraging countries and water sector stakeholders throughout the world to place water-related issues at the top. global agenda.

“We hope that the 10th World Water Forum can become a decision-making platform to place water issues as a top priority at the global level so that we can all provide better water quality for a better quality of life for our communities in the future,” said Basuki.

The Indonesian government hopes that the implementation of the 10th WWF will not only be limited to producing documents or declarations, but will also be able to answer global water challenges and create equitable access to clean water in every country.

This international forum also aims to increase public awareness and understanding of the importance of sustainable water resources management. Because, as is known, the water problem is a problem that must be faced together, both on a local and global scale.

Through cross-sector and cross-border collaboration, the 10th WWF wants to produce global consensus and concrete action in realizing sustainable water management.

With shared commitment, the world can achieve the UN Sustainable Development Goals on water and sanitation by 2030, and protect water resources for future generations.
