Toll and Flight Ticket Discounts: A Concrete Display of Government’s Concern for Eid Homecoming 2025

Jakarta – The government is providing discounts on toll fares and domestic flight tickets to ease travel for people returning home during Eid 1446 H.
Coordinating Minister for Human Development and Culture (Menko PMK), Pratikno, stated that this policy aims to reduce congestion during both departure and return traffic.
“Toll fare and domestic flight ticket discounts will be arranged to help ease congestion during the homecoming and return periods,” Pratikno said at the Coordinating Ministry for Human Development and Culture office.
Additionally, the government is ensuring the readiness of public transportation. The Ministry of Health will conduct health checks on public transport drivers to ensure passenger safety.
“We will take preventive measures to ensure that no high-risk drivers are on duty during the Eid holiday,” he added.
Group Chief Executive Officer of ASTRA Infra, Firman Yosafat Siregar, stated that the company is also offering toll fare discounts for users of the Tangerang-Merak and Cipali toll roads. This price reduction is a gesture of appreciation for travelers.
“Toll fare discounts are part of our commitment to supporting a smooth Eid homecoming in 2025 and as an appreciation for ASTRA Infra toll road users,” Firman said.
For the return traffic, the Tangerang-Merak Toll Road will have discounts on April 8-9, 2025, while the Cipali Toll Road will offer discounts on April 8-10, 2025. For the departure traffic, the Tangerang-Merak Toll Road will provide discounts on March 24-25, 2025, while the Cipali Toll Road will have discounts on March 24-26, 2025.
“A 20 percent discount will be available during two periods and will apply to trips from the Cikupa Toll Gate to Merak and vice versa, as well as from the Cikampek Utama Toll Gate to Semarang,” Firman stated.
Meanwhile, Coordinating Minister for Infrastructure and Regional Development (IPK), Agus Harimurti Yudhoyono (AHY), announced that the government is also offering a 13-14 percent discount on flight tickets for departures from March 24 to April 7, 2025.
“This policy is made possible after the government reduced airport operational costs and aviation fuel prices. Additionally, there is an extra incentive in the form of a six percent VAT subsidy provided by the government,” AHY explained.
Through these policies, the government hopes to make homecoming travel more comfortable and affordable while reducing congestion at key points.
The public is encouraged to plan their trips better, take advantage of the discount periods, and enjoy a smoother and safer journey.
