The United Nations (UN) gave full recognition to Bumi Cenderawasih since 1963, this indicates that Papua is indeed an inseparable part of the Unitary State of the Republic of Indonesia (NKRI).
Not only has it received full recognition from the international world through the UN, but the position or status that Papua has in Indonesia, which is already legally an integral unit, is also shown by the massive development of the Easternmost Province in Indonesia carried out by the President of the Republic of Indonesia, Joko Widodo (Jokowi).
Regarding how development efforts have been intensified by the Indonesian Government, the Chair of the Melanesian Youth Diplomacy Forum, who is also a Papuan figure, Steve Mara acknowledged this and assessed that there has indeed been a lot of development carried out by the state for Bumi Cenderawasih from various sectors such as development. infrastructure to improving the quality of Human Resources (HR).
As one example of the state’s attention to Papua, it also emphasizes that Bumi Cenderawasih is an integral part of the Republic of Indonesia, namely in terms of infrastructure development such as bridges, even the construction of Trans Papua.
All of these examples are very concrete things that show that the Indonesian Government is indeed showing its seriousness in dealing with problems in Papua and is very committed to developing the Earth of Cenderawasih. Apart from that, this example also indicates that now the development paradigm implemented by the government is no longer only centered on the island of Java or Javacentric, but is very evenly distributed throughout Indonesia or has an Indonesiacentric paradigm.
So far, the Government continues to do its best to develop all regions in this country, even to remote areas, including Papua. Therefore, the strong determination of the Indonesian Government should be able to be maintained jointly by all parties, especially the young generation in the Land of Papua itself so that efforts to accelerate development can also have an impact on increasing human resources (HR) and supporting economic growth in Indonesia, especially in Bumi Cenderawasih itself.
The massive infrastructure development and efforts to improve the quality of human resources carried out by the Indonesian Government in Papua have now made young people in Bumi Cenderawasih start to be actively involved in this development.
Currently, thanks to the massive development carried out by the Government, young people in the easternmost province of the country also have and develop their spirit of nationalism or love for the Unitary State of the Republic of Indonesia (NKRI).
The activeness of Papuan youth in fully supporting all government development programs has even been greatly accommodated by the government itself, making them all feel a sense of responsibility towards the state because it has given special importance to the Earth of Cenderawasih.
If the younger generation of the nation’s successors in the Land of Papua becomes more and more actively involved in the state system, then of course they will increasingly have a responsibility to continue to maintain the state’s dignity and uphold that dignity.
Meanwhile, young Papuan figure, Charles Kossay, also saw the same thing, namely that according to him, the Government in Indonesia, even since the era of the leadership of the first President of the Republic of Indonesia, Ir. Soekarno is currently in leadership under the Seventh President Joko Widodo.
The policies taken in each era of Presidential leadership in Indonesia are always influenced and based on the situation and conditions prevailing at that time so that it is clearly very relevant and needed for the Papuan people themselves.
To date, the Indonesian government itself continues to use a holistic approach based on improving welfare for all indigenous Papuan communities (OAP). Therefore, ahead of the change of leadership in 2024, Papuan leaders really hope that the next leader will be able to continue the national policies that have been implemented well by President Joko Widodo.
In this way, the state continues to give its full attention with direct presence and even listens to the complaints of the Papuan people to prevent possible divisions between a handful of parties who have been continuing to propagate and provoke the issue of an independent Papua so that the unity of Papua as an integral part of the Republic of Indonesia is a fixed price. .
Therefore, it can no longer be denied that Papua has indeed become an integral and final part of the Republic of Indonesia, so the attitude of all young people in Bumi Cenderawasih should be to become good Indonesian citizens by working together to protect this nation, even from Sabang. until Merauke.
