Mabar – Labuan Bajo, Kab. West Manggarai, NTT is the venue for the 42nd ASEAN Summit which will be held on 9-11 May 2023. Various elements of society provide support for the activities of the 42nd ASEAN Summit.
West Manggarai activist figure Lorensius Logam said the ASEAN Summit was a major event which, in its implementation, both pre- and post-implementation, would require moral support and participation from all elements of society.
For this reason, he invited all elements of society to participate in organizing the ASEAN Summit in Labuan Bajo and to be able to maintain a conducive situation from pre to the process of holding the ASEAN Summit on 9-11 May 2023.
“Whatever the challenges will be in the future, come on, let’s participate together in maintaining a conducive situation, both from the pre-event to the implementation process later,” he said.
In this regard, the Chairperson of the Labuan Bajo Land Tour Transport Association, Jhon Dacosta will fully support the holding of the 42nd ASEAN Summit in Labuan Bajo. He also appreciated the activities of the ASEAN Summit which was held in Labuan Bajo.
“We agree and fully support the holding of the ASEAN Summit in Labuan Bajo and we are very grateful to the central government for choosing Labuan Bajo as the venue for the 42nd ASEAN Summit,” he said.
On the other hand, the owner of Sibanaha Trip H. Edy Isrun Patinggi also fully supports the ASEAN Summit in Labuan Bajo. H. Edy hopes that this activity can be a start for holding other international events in Labuan Bajo.
“I fully support the implementation of the 2023 ASEAN Summit in Labuan Bajo. Hopefully with this event, there will be more major international events in the future,” he said.
Meanwhile, MSMEs in the province of NTT also provided support for the 2023 ASEAN Summit in Labuan Bajo. Victoria Saban, one of the SMEs in Labuan Bajo, said she was happy that Labuan Bajo was chosen to be the venue for the international event.
He also fully supports the holding of the 42nd ASEAN Summit in Labuan Bajo. Thus, there will be many local products that are increasingly recognized in the international market.
In line with this, Yhanny Rutte, Pink Beach Gallery MSME actor also fully supports the activities of the 42nd ASEAN Summit in Labuan Bajo.
“We at the Pink Beach Gallery strongly support the 2023 ASEAN Summit in Labuan Bajo,” he said.
Apart from Victoria and Yhanny, NTT MSME actors and owner Putri Pak Tani, Fitriah Dahlan also said that they strongly support the ASEAN Summit activities in Labuan Bajo and hope that it will have a positive impact on the economy of the surrounding community.
“I really support the activities of the ASEAN Summit Summit, because this is the first time this activity has been carried out in the province of NTT,” he said.
He hopes that the ASEAN Summit in Labuan Bajo can run safely and smoothly.
