Jakarta – Drugs remain a serious challenge that requires the collective attention of all elements of the nation, especially the youth. Various eradication and prevention efforts continue to be carried out extensively at both the national and regional levels, demonstrating the commitment of the government and society to create a drug-free future. The youth play a strategic role as the frontline in breaking the chain of drug abuse in Indonesia.

The government, through the National Narcotics Agency (BNN), continues to strengthen collaboration with educational institutions. One tangible step is the partnership between BNN and Bhayangkara University Jakarta Raya for the Drug Abuse Prevention and Eradication Program (P4GN). The Rector of Bhayangkara University Jakarta Raya, Prof. Dr. Drs. Bambang Karsono, S.H., M.M., Ph.D., D.Crim., stated that this collaboration aims to educate students and the public to become more aware of the dangers of drugs.

“We fully support BNN’s program to combat drugs. Our students will be encouraged to actively engage in various prevention activities such as counseling, training, and research related to drugs,” said the Rector.

The Head of BNN Southeast Sulawesi Province, Brigadier General Christ Reinhard Pusung, also highlighted the importance of cross-sector collaboration, including with educational, religious, and regional government institutions. “We plan to collaborate with the Ministry of Religious Affairs and related organizations to educate the youth about the dangers of drugs,” he said.

This initiative aligns with the national strategy to strengthen the role of youth as agents of change. At the university level, education about the dangers of drugs will be integrated into the curriculum to build strong character and resilient youth.

The active involvement of various stakeholders shows the collective commitment to fighting drugs. With the growing role of youth, Indonesia can create a brighter, drug-free future. Every individual has the potential to be a pioneer of the anti-drug movement, inspiring the wider community.
