Government Optimizes Law Enforcement Against KST Papua
By: Timothy Gobay) *
The government continues to optimize law enforcement for the Armed Criminal Group (KKB) in Papua. The community supports these efforts and hopes that the Government will not give forgiveness to the separatist groups who have hurt the people.
Armed criminal groups (KKB) are still a threat in Papua. Papua Police Chief Inspector General Pol Mathius D Fakhri ensures that law enforcement against the KKB in Puncak Jaya Regency, Papua continues.
This was said to be related to the series of terror and attacks carried out by KKB some time ago, such as burning school buildings, burning honai, shooting teachers, shooting Kabinda and a member of Brimob.
He emphasized that law enforcement will continue to be carried out at various points which are the places or headquarters of the KKB.
He also ensured that currently the joint TNI-Polri forces continued to pursue the KKB, which often gave terror to the Papuan people who remained loyal to the Republic of Indonesia.
Mathius said he had reminded his members at several points in Puncak Jaya Regency to anticipate the movement of this group.
In addition, he said for the Puncak Regency area, TNI-Polri personnel were also doing posse at Intan Jaya. He hopes that the two areas that are often chaotic, namely Puncak and Intan Jaya, can be cleaned up.
After that, his party will look for where the KKB has shifted. Did they return to their group as they were before coming to Ilaga?
Mathius admitted that he still provides opportunities for KKB members who want to return to Mother Earth’s lap. The opportunity to return to the Republic of Indonesia is still open, but if you do not take this opportunity and you are still committing a crime, you will be confronted by the security forces.
He said that law enforcement will be carried out against criminals so that it is hoped that this opportunity or offer can be utilized as well as possible.
Previously, the Head of the National Police Public Relations Division, Kombes Ahmad Ramadhan, reported that currently KKB members are estimated to have left only 150 militants.
Meanwhile, KKB leader Terinus Enumbi appeared after a subordinate with the initials LW was secured by TNI Polri personnel. It turns out that this terrorist leader in Papua has twice betrayed the Republic of Indonesia.
Head of the Nemangkawi Operation Public Relations Task Force, Kombes Pol Iqbal Alqudusy said that Terinus Enumbi had submitted himself to Pangkuan NKRI in 2016. But in 2018, he returned to action as part of the KKB.
Iqbal said, Terinus Enumbi carried out his violent action against a TNI soldier, the late Lieutenant Blegur, until he died while on duty and a colleague.
The LW perpetrator who was recently secured by joint TNI Polri personnel was also suspected of being the perpetrator of the shooting of Lt. Blegur at that time on Terinus Enumbi’s instructions.
The shooting took place in Biak Village, Mewoluk District, Puncak Jaya Regency in March 2020. Terinus Enumbi became the leader of the KKB gang after separating from the previous leader, Goliat Tabuni.
Currently a joint TNI-Polri team is pursuing Terinus Enumbi and his gang who are suspected of being in the Puncak Jaya Regency area, Papua.
The KKB’s criminal tracks cannot be forgiven, especially since they often act on behalf of the people to attack TNI-Polri apparatus.
The crimes committed by the KKB deserve to be equated with acts of terror. This is because the KKB act uses violence, threats of violence, firearms, and causes widespread fear in the community.
The act of attack that has been carried out by the KKB is certainly a serious threat to the sovereignty of the Republic of Indonesia and the progress of the development program in Papua which is being promoted by the government.
Meanwhile, the government through the Coordinating Minister for Political, Legal and Security Affairs Mahfud MD has designated the KKB as a list of suspected terrorists and terrorist organizations (DTTOT). This means that the government considers that organizations and people in Papua who commit massive violence are categorized as terrorists.
Therefore, the government has also asked the TNI and Polri to take firm and measured action against the Papuan KKB which is increasingly troubling. This refers to Law Number 5 of 2018 concerning the eradication of acts of terrorism.
Not only did it kill innocent civilians, the KKB also threatened to kill Javanese living in Papua.
There is no mercy for KKB, this group is not only a separatist group, but also a group that spreads anxiety and spreads terror that threatens the Republic of Indonesia.
