Support KST Arms Supplier Investigation
By: Rebeca Marian)*
The Nemangkawi Task Force continues to hunt for the Separatist and Terrorist Group (KST) in Papua , including revealing the involvement of government officials in Papua . The public fully supports the investigation, which is categorized as betrayal to the state.
KST, which used to be called KKB, is a group under the OPM, and they deliberately messed up the situation in Papua with the aim of liberating themselves. The problem is, KST acted recklessly by shooting at the police and civilians. So that the security of the people on Cendrawasih Earth is very disturbed by KST members.
The way to eradicate KST is to find its base, and investigate its weapons suppliers. Because they are in the middle of a remote Papuan forest , it is impossible not to get pistols and other firearms without a supplier. Suppliers should also be jailed because they support separatist groups which means betraying the state.
A firearms supplier has been arrested in Puncak Regency, Papua. The man named Neson Murib was seized with evidence in the form of 370 million rupiah. This arrest is a good start, because from Neson’s confession it can be traced what weapons were used by KST and the authorities can anticipate it early.
Apart from Neson, there were also 3 other weapons suppliers who were arrested by the authorities in Manado. Namely JI, FR, and RIB. According to the Head of the Public Information Bureau of the National Police Public Relations Division, Brigadier General Argo Yuwono, they came from Manado. JI is the broker of firearms from the Philippines, then to Manado and then to Manokwari. Meanwhile, the seller’s FR and RIB are the buyers.
When arrested, there was evidence in the form of a Carabin firearm, a Caspian pistol, and several other types of weapons . The suppliers face up to 5 years in prison for smuggling guns. In addition, there is an additional maximum sentence of 15 years in prison for suppliers supporting the terrorist movement in Indonesia.
The arrest of this supplier is a bright spot because a pattern was found that KST was truly a terrorist organization. Because the Philippines is known for its terrorist network and their members transit in Manado with suspicion to avoid the suspicion of officers. After this it was traced again who knows there are other suppliers from their network.
If the suppliers have been arrested then KST will be confused because it does not have a supply of new weapons. So that if the old ones are damaged or run out of bullets, they can’t abuse guns anymore. KST will be easier to catch because he can’t brag about his actions while carrying an AK 47 or other firearms.
When the suppliers are arrested, it remains only to investigate who the funders are, because the price of smuggled firearms is very high. Logically, KST did n’t have that kind of money to buy it themselves. When Murib was arrested, it was revealed that the money he was carrying came from village funds that were misused by unscrupulous individuals.
Allegedly, the financiers do not like the existence of Otsus in Papua, therefore they support KST with the excuse of wanting to thwart it. Even though the program is very good for the progress of the Papuan people, selfish elements want to overthrow it and instead support separatism.
After Murib was arrested and interrogated, a suspected financier emerged, an official in the Tolikari area. The official has not yet been arrested because the authorities are gathering other evidence and witnesses. Hopefully the performance of the apparatus will improve and reveal who the real mastermind is.
The investigation of the supplier of firearms to KST is still being carried out by the Nemangkawi Task Force and other officials. The investigation was not only carried out in Papua, but also in other areas such as Manado. Because their network is very wide and hopefully the gun suppliers and their financiers will also be caught.
