The government through the State Intelligence Agency (BIN) held vaccinations for high school/junior high school students and door to door simultaneously in 14 provinces throughout Indonesia on July 14, 2021. This activity is the Government’s effort to overcome the Covid-19 pandemic that occurred in Indonesia.
The Covid-19 vaccination for adolescents aged 12-18 years has begun, targeting junior and senior high school students in 32 locations spread across 15 districts/cities and 14 provinces in the country. The vaccination process was also witnessed virtually directly by the President of the Republic of Indonesia, Joko Widodo.
In addition to Covid-19 vaccinations for students, President Jokowi also witnessed virtually door-to-door Covid-19 vaccinations for the general public.
In his remarks, President Jokowi greeted the students and announced that today, 49 thousand children will be vaccinated, 15 thousand junior high school students, 15 thousand high school students and 19 thousand door-to-door vaccinations .
Jokowi watched the vaccination via video teleconference connected to several locations for the Covid-19 vaccination in 14 provinces, namely DKI Jakarta, Banten, West Java, Central Java, DI Yogyakarta, East Java, Bali, North Sumatra, West Sumatra, Riau, Riau Islands. , East Kalimantan, South Sulawesi and Papua.
The President explained that the government continues to carry out Covid-19 vaccinations so that Indonesia can achieve community immunity to overcome the Covid-19 pandemic. He said that the government wants to encourage all of these vaccinations to be accelerated, so that communal immunity can be achieved and we can avoid Covid-19.
On this occasion, President Jokowi also greeted students who were participants in the vaccination and also the general public who received vaccines from house to house. Former Governor of DKI Jakart a also asked the students about online learning situations. He also reminded that students can still comply with health protocols even though they have received the Covid-19 vaccine.
To one of the students of SMP Negeri 103 Cijantung DKI Jakarta Vania, the President gave his appeal to stay careful, keep your distance, wear a mask and don’t crowd. Happy learning and keep learning. The head of state also greeted the students of SMA Negeri 1 Tanjung Pinang, Riau Islands, SMA Negeri 1 Sentani, Papua, teaching staff and the general public who participated in house-to-house vaccinations.
In his remarks, Jokowi admitted that he had heard the aspirations of students who had wanted to meet their friends, wanted to study in groups, wanted to meet teachers. Everyone has this desire, but we must be careful because the spread of Covid-19 is still happening.
BIN chief Budi Gunawan in his speech menguca pkan thank Presid e n Joko Widodo very caring and giving extraordinary attention in handling an outbreak of Covid-19. Budi explained that the door to door vaccination adopted the method used in other countries. It is hoped that this vaccination can reach all levels of society.
The door-to-door vaccination method used has proven to be able to increase the participation of families who do not have access and who are afraid to leave the house to avoid transmission of Covid-19.
Meanwhile, BIN Deputy I Major General Agus Yusni reported directly on the vaccination activities in Cijantung. He explained that this door-to-door vaccination aims to provide opportunities for people who want to vaccinate but are hampered by distance.
Agus also said that his party also provided basic necessities directly to residents. In addition, residents who have comorbidities are also recorded. Agus also listed people who are likely to have congenital or comorbid diseases, where most of the people who are prevented from participating in vaccination are people who have diseases such as hypertension and diabetes.
The implementation of door-to-door vaccines will certainly reduce the potential for crowds of people. One of the residents who get vaccinated door to door Novita, said he was happy to follow the vaccination without mengantr i . If this is done, then herd immunity in Indonesia will be faster, of course this vaccination effort must be accompanied by the implementation of compliance with the health protocols that have been set by the government.
This breakthrough step certainly deserves appreciation, where the government through BIN goes directly to provide vaccines to the community and students door to door. So that people do not need mengantr i to get the vaccine. In addition , the government also recorded who could not be vaccinated because of comorbidities.
