An earthquake with a magnitude of 5.6 shook Cianjur Regency, West Java, Monday (21/11/2022). As of Tuesday (11/22) it was reported that 268 people died as a result of the earthquake that occurred in Cianjur Regency, West Java.
Responding to this, BIN also established an aid post to help victims affected by the 5.6 magnitude earthquake in Cianjur, West Java.
BIN Deputy VII, Prabawa Ajie said that BIN had set up an Assistance Post for the Cianjur earthquake victims shortly after the disaster occurred.
“BIN has set up an aid post for the community since last Monday (21/11) or some time after the earthquake occurred,” he said.
He added that the Assistance Post was BIN’s commitment to always be present with the community.
“The BIN Assistance Post is expected to be able to reduce the difficulties of the people who are currently hit by the disaster and represent the presence of the state at the disaster site,” said Prabawa.
The establishment of the BIN Assistance Post in Cianjur, on the orders of BIN Chief Gen. Pol (Purn) Budi Gunawan, was directly led by West Java Kabinda Brigadier General Ruddy Prasemilsa Mahks.
Three posts have been set up, one refugee tent with a capacity of 60 people. This tent contained 57 refugees from Cijedil Village consisting of 20 men (adults), 24 women (adults), and 13 babies.
Then two refugee tents with a capacity of 25 people. As well as tents for health workers in order to provide health service assistance to the community.
BINDA Jabar also provided logistical assistance and food ingredients to victims affected by the earthquake in Cianjur, West Java.
“Two trucks of logistical assistance from BIN Headquarters have arrived at the Command Post, and will continue to increase according to field needs,” said West Java Kabinda Brigadier General Ruddy Prasemilsa, Tuesday (22/11/2022).
Until this afternoon, the Meteorology, Climatology and Geophysics Agency (BMKG) recorded 125 aftershocks in Cianjur Regency.
“Update on the aftershocks of the M 5.6 Cianjur earthquake. Aftershocks until 22 November 2022 at 08.00 there were 125 earthquakes,” said BMKG Bandung Head Teguh Rahayu, Tuesday (22/11/2022)
BMKG noted that the strongest aftershocks had a magnitude of 4.2 and the smallest had a magnitude of 1.5. “The biggest is M 4.2. Then, the smallest is M 1.5,” said Teguh.
