Bandar Lampung – The Coordinating Minister for Infrastructure and Regional Development of the Republic of Indonesia, Agus Harimurti Yudhoyono (AHY), emphasized that cross-sector collaboration is a key element in accelerating infrastructure development and improving the quality of human capital.

This aligns with the government’s commitment to realizing the priority agenda of President Prabowo Subianto and Vice President Gibran Rakabuming Raka in the first year of their administration.

Minister AHY made this statement while speaking at a general lecture (Stadium General) at the University of Lampung (Unila). In his presentation, he stated that the direction of national development over the next five to ten years must focus on economic equity and improving public welfare.

“A just and equitable development concept must be the foundation. Indonesia will move forward if its people are well-prepared, particularly through access to education, healthcare, and welfare,” AHY asserted.

Minister AHY also highlighted the critical role of education in producing a superior generation. He recognized Unila as one of the key higher education institutions in Sumatra.

“We hope the quality of education in Lampung continues to improve, campus facilities become more comprehensive, and its graduates are highly competitive,” he said.

In addition to human capital development, AHY stressed that infrastructure remains the backbone of national economic growth. During a dialogue session with students, various concerns were raised, especially regarding road conditions, interregional connectivity, and the availability of basic public facilities.

“Infrastructure development must be continuously enhanced—roads, transportation, energy, and clean water. These are all crucial to support farmers’ productivity, food distribution, and overall public welfare,” he added.

He further explained that the government is encouraging cross-ministerial coordination—including with the Ministry of Public Works and Housing, Ministry of Transportation, and state-owned enterprises—to accelerate the development of integrated infrastructure.

“As the Coordinating Minister for Infrastructure, I ensure that coordination between ministries runs smoothly so that development is more integrated and effectively targeted,” AHY concluded.

Echoing AHY’s statement, Chairman of the Lampung Provincial House of Representatives (DPRD), Ahmad Giri Akbar, welcomed the minister’s visit. He called it an important moment to strengthen synergy between central and regional governments.

“This is an opportunity for unfinished projects and those under the state budget (APBN) to be allocated to Lampung. We are ready to collaborate and oversee the implementation of the Asta Cita programs in our region,” Giri said.

He also emphasized that infrastructure development should not only focus on national roads but must reach the village level to effectively support various national programs.
