Indonesian is an archipelago and has large sea area. Many people have profession as fisherman. But, many fishermen still uses traditional fishing tool. In other side, many fishermen has used sophisticated fishing tool.
It needs serious concern from government and related board. The discrepancy between fisherman using traditional and more sophisticated fishing tool, it might arise a conflict among them.
Such fisherman in Kotawaringin Timur regency, Central Kalimantan province, many local fisherman still use traditional fishing tool. Meanwhile, there are fishermen from outside regency look for fish use sophisticated fishing tool. It will affect to the result of fishing between local and outside regency fisherman.
“Technology that is used by outside regency fisherman is more sophisticated and will effect to result in higher than traditional fishing tool. Meanwhile local fisherman still use traditional fishing tool, such net, and the result is not as much as using sophisticated fishing tool,” said Suhairi, Chief of monitoring and controlling, Maritime and Fisheries board Kotawaringin Timur, such in Kaltengprokal.co.
He assumed, the envious of local fisherman toward technology that used by outside regency fisherman is normal. Comparing on economic level, local fisherman has no enough capital.
Role and job of government in handle this case, i.e support local fisherman by giving tool and more sophisticated fishing tool.
