CIDISS. Environmental pollution in Jakarta has been so acute. Starting from air pollution, sea water and ground water pollution, river pollution, and a number of other pollution. This was triggered by the ignorance of the community and the increasing pollution.
One example of deteriorating environmental pollution in DKI Jakarta is the Sentiong River or Black River, which had become a concern because Indonesia hosted the 2018 Asian Games. The public eye on the adverse effects of environmental pollution, as if it had just opened when Jakarta hosted the Asian Games international sports event. 2018. The existence of Black River becomes unsightly and creates an unpleasant odor that becomes a bad image of Indonesia’s cleanliness as the host.
To overcome this, the DKI Provincial Government and the central government are forced to react to this by closing the Item Kali using waring and installing flower pots at the edges. In fact, experts from the ITB and UGM Alumni Families also acted so that the existence of Black River did not interfere with the implementation of the Asian Games. This illustrates that pollution in Indonesia is a threat that must be anticipated because it has a significant negative impact.
The problem of environmental pollution is triggered by low public awareness, making it a place for disposal of tofu industry waste, tempeh, car wash, and other household waste. Furthermore, pollution problems have the potential to disrupt the survival of the community because this is related to the activities and health of the community which can be disrupted and trigger other problems with a larger scale.
However, from the handling of the problem it can be seen that the government is responsive in overcoming the Black River problem which causes disruption to the 2018 Asian Games. Some parties can say that the handling is too late, but this is better than the government allowing it to become a bad image of Indonesia in the world international. Compared to raising this issue, we as a community should help the government to overcome Black River pollution, one of them is by not throwing garbage into Black River.
