The government is drafting the BPIP Bill which regulates Pancasila and the BPIP institution. Initially, the people wondered why Pancasila needed to be made a law . But now they understand that this bill is very important as a protection for Pancasila.

The BPIP Bill is being drafted so that the position of Pancasila and the BPIP institution will be stronger. As the basis of the state, Pancasila is indeed irreplaceable. However, so far Pancasila has only been protected by presidential regulations. U ntuk further strengthen its position, it would require a stronger legal framework, namely by making the bill.

If Pancasila is protected by law , then the place will be more secure. Because if there is only a presidential decree on Pancasila, it is feared there will be a change in state ideology. If one day the president changes and he cheats by changing the basis of the state. So we need a law to protect him from that bad deed.

The state ideology is very crucial, because it is the basic principle of Indonesia. According to Muradi , a professor at Padjajaran University , the BPIP Bill is needed as a guide to maintain Pancasila as the nation’s ideology. Do not let this ideology be poisoned by other ideologies and even get influence from radicals.

Protecting the Pancasila ideology is very important because currently it is prone to influence from the elements. It is clear that Indonesia is a democracy, but they are determined to turn it into a sharia state. Even though we live in a heterogeneous society, so we cannot change the state ideology at will.

Since the reform era, people have been free to express opinions, but unfortunately there are those who are ignorant and demand that Indonesian ideologues be changed. After there was an attack from those who wanted to turn it into a caliphate state, there were those who insisted on making this country a communist.

This is very dangerous because communist ideology has infiltrated not only society but also reaches schools. Young people even waved the hammer and sickle flag as a form of resistance against the government which they considered wrongdoing. Even though they have absolutely no knowledge of the history of the image on the flag.

With the BPIP Bill, this could be prevented, because it increased nationalism and love for Pancasila. People will be invited again to live Pancasila and apply it in everyday life. For example, by being obedient in worship and diligently helping others. Especially when it is still a pandemic, so that public awareness is increased to help those in need.

In addition to regulating the position of Pancasila, the BPIP Bill also protects BPIP as an institution that preserves Pancasila. BPIP is a state institution that has been established for a long time, even since the New Order. However, that does not mean that this bill invites Indonesia to reminisce with the new order. Because the era is clearly different.

The old BPIP did manage Pancasila and made P4 upgrades for each employee and student. But now of course there are other ways to socialize Pancasila. For example through social media to target young people. Because this method will be more effective in promoting a sense of nationalism and love for Pancasila.

If Pancasila continues to be socialized to the community, it will not only be memorized in writing , but also penetrate the heart. Many people will do the precepts in Pancasila with pleasure. So that social life will be more calm and peaceful, because everyone respects each other.

The BPIP Bill is very important to strengthen the position of Pancasila as the basis of the state. The legal umbrella will be stronger, so that nothing can change Indonesia’s ideology. In addition, by strengthening the BPIP institution, there will be new efforts in preserving Pancasila and instilling love for the country.
