Confirmation of Rizieq Shihab as suspect based on accordance with the law

The suspect in the case of violating Rizieq Shihab’s health protocol has now been detained by the police. The determination of this status was in accordance with the law because Rizieq had actually caused the crowd. He also disobeyed the rules by ignoring summons from Polda Jaya. The community has always supported the police in taking action against Rizieq, who often causes trouble.
Leader of the Islamic Defenders Front (FPI) Rizieq Shihab visited the Jakarta Metro Police on Saturday, December 12, 2020. After several hours of questioning, Rizieq was finally arrested. Rizieq is known as a controversial figure, because of his harsh lectures to the government. He is also considered too self-conscious because he talks about anything, like he is venturing on stage. The problem is, the diction used is very inappropriate and it is as if he forgot that as a speaker, he should set a good example.
Now Rizieq has hit the stone because he has been named a suspect and has been detained by the police. The Rizieq Shihab crowd case also received special handling, so that the announcement was also attended by 6 other police generals.
The case of violating the health protocol by Rizieq Shihab is also very special because it has received public attention. Moreover, Rizieq had twice refused to come to Polda Metro Jaya to be questioned. But he always ran away from responsibility by reason of being sick. It is also unclear what type of disease he had, after he was treated at a hospital in Bogor. If it is proven that he has contracted the corona, then again he violates the rules, because he does not report to the task force team.
In the past, Rizieq’s status was only a witness, now he has become a suspect. Because he was caught in 2 articles at once, namely article 160 of the Criminal Code. The reason was because Rizieq was proven to have lectured with provocation and hate speech. The penalty is a maximum of 6 years in prison.
Meanwhile, the second article that Rizieq violated was Article 216 paragraph 1 with the threat of a sentence of 4 months and 1 week. Because he was absent from police summons for no apparent reason and did not comply with orders. Even in front of his residence, FPI members have even guarded them since 2 weeks ago. This shows Rizieq’s arrogance which shows that he is hard to smoke.
Currently Rizieq is safe at the police station. The public also supports the police’s non-selective efforts to crack down on crowds. They are also tired of Rizieq’s arbitrary behavior and violating health protocols, claiming 80 victims who tested positive for corona.
Apart from Rizieq, there are also other suspects. They are the chairman and secretary of the committee for Rizieq’s child marriage, 2 people in charge of event security, and the head of the event section. They were charged with Law Number 93 Article 6 of 2018 concerning health quarantine. The threat of punishment is 1 year in prison.
Even though Rizieq’s family denied that they had paid the fine, they were still threatened with punishment. Because this is not the only time Rizieq has violated health protocols. He was caught conducting a lecture safari in several places and it attracted thousands of people. Also don’t care about physical distancing, or forget about the corona threat?
If Rizieq had answered the Polda Metro Jaya’s summons from the start, it would have been a different story. Because the articles that are violated will be less. But rice has become porridge. The punishment Rizieq will receive is deemed appropriate, so that no one in the community feels disadvantaged.
The public must also be aware of provocations from Rizieq’s supporters and not to be swallowed up by their acting as playing victims. Even though Rizieq Shihab is a religious leader, that does not mean he is above the law. Because he is an Indonesian citizen and proven to have violated the rules, he must be punished accordingly.
