President Joko Widodo received a courtesy call the Chairman of Shura Council Kingdom of Saudi Arabia Abdullah bin Mohammed bin Ibrahim Al-Sheikh at the State Palace, Jakarta, Thursday (16/02/2017). Deputy Foreign Minister Abdurrahman M Fachir say, one of the topics discussed was related to the fight against terrorism.
After the meeting Fachir said he also specifically encouraged the two parliaments cooperate in the fight against terrorism and the spread of Islam is a tolerant, peaceful, Islam rahmatan lil Alamin.
Fachir also added as Chairman of the Shura Council has a particular concern about terrorism. He owns and authored a book about terrorism and how to treat it.
Another issue discussed was related to the protection of Indonesian citizens who Hajj and Umrah and living in Saudi Arabia.
In Economics, the President referred to cooperation in trade, where there is a significant decline from 2014-2015, which amounted to 36 percent. The President also asked for help from the Chairman of the Saudi Shura Council for realization of plans and investment commitments in Indonesia. The President also briefly discuss the preparation for the visit of King of Saudi Arabia, Salman Bin Abdul Aziz Al Saud to Indonesia on 1-9 March 2017.
Chairman of the Shura Council of Saudi Arabia said that the decline in the volume of trade does not only happen in Indonesia, remains in practically all countries. Mainly because of the decline in oil prices.
As for other issues related to that delivered by the President, Chairman of the Shura Council of Saudi Arabia promised to communicate with the relevant ministries.
Strengthen relations with Indonesia and Saudi Arabia, hope can combat terrorism, Islam is peaceful and everything related to the protection of Indonesian citizens is further enhanced.
