PANCASILA FOR INDONESIA

By: Rashka Pratama

Some people argue that communism has the potential to be reborn in Indonesia. That is because some of these people argue that democracy now provides space for anyone to freely voice their opinions, free to have confidence. This freedom is interpreted by communist groups as a strategy to strengthen its influence. Thus, communism will be firmly rooted in Indonesian society.

The signal of his life back in the communist movement has been widely discussed, for example on August 5, 2015, netizens had a stir because of a picture posting showing the flapping of a hammer and sickle flag lined up on a bridge in Salatiga, Central Java. At that time, the Salatiga police confirmed that the drawing was fabricated. Even so, the picture remains a question that does not yet have an answer for the community, is communism really gone in Indonesia?

In this reform era, elements of the Indonesian Communist Party were judged to have used tactics to reverse the facts to cover up the sins of the Indonesian Communist Party in the past. This was proven by the emergence of pressure on the President to give a state address on August 15, 2015 which would apologize to the families of the Indonesian Communist Party. Of course, through this speech will prove that the Indonesian Communist Party is not guilty of the events of 1965. Conversely, if this speech occurs, then clearly the culprit of the events of September1965 is the Government of Indonesia and the Indonesian Army. The speech will open the doors to the communist ideology to re-color the Indonesian political world. Although the president failed to make a state speech apologizing to the Indonesian Communist Party, it still needs to be realized that the Indonesian communist group is still trying to strengthen its existence. For this reason, we as good citizens need to uphold the ideology of Pancasila so that Indonesia can always prevent the spread of communist ideas. Indonesia is a country that supports a variety of tribes and cultures, given Indonesia’s geographical condition which has thousands of islands. With Pancasila, ethnic and cultural differences in it can be respected and justice is always fought for. Indonesia always has the ideology of Pancasila, and it will always remain that way.
