Jokowi Inaugurates the PYCH Building as a Platform for Developing the Potential of Young Papuans
Jayapura – The Papua Youth Creative Hub (PYCH) building which was built in Jayapura was inaugurated directly by President Joko Widodo on Tuesday (21/3/2023) in Jayapura, Papua.
The construction of the PYCH Building is a means for the government to prosper the people in Papua.
With the PYCH building, it can become a program to become a means of developing all the potential that children of the younger generation have on Earth of Cendrawasih.
The President stated that he was very impressed with the various achievements of Papuan youths at PYCH.
“I am very surprised that everything is in this PYCH, starting from making cellphones, laptops, podcasts, music studios, photography, and also showing off products in the Land of Papua with very good packaging and branding. If this continues, young people in other provinces will be left behind by young people in Papua,” said President Jokowi.
Jokowi added that Indonesia’s development now is not Java-centric, but Indonesia-centric and Papua is a priority.
On the same occasion, the Head of the State Intelligence Agency (BIN), Police General (Purn) Budi Gunawan, revealed that the inauguration of the building was a form of the President’s commitment to building a Papuan talent center as a driving force for Papua’s economy and prosperity.
“PYCH must be a pillar of Papuan youth. We are optimistic that the results of PYCH will be global with the development of Papuan Youth Human Resources. PYCH will create jobs for business and economic development as well as arts and culture, and others,” said the Head of BIN.
Previously, a Papuan youth leader who joined PYCH, Vitha Faidiban, said the construction of this building would help the Papuan people develop the interests and talents of the Papuan people in order to increase the potential of Papuan human resources.
“This building is extraordinary and helps us young Papuans to be creative, innovate, make works and do everything we can for the good of the people of the Land of Papua,” said Vitha Faidiban.
According to Vitha, the construction of this building is one of the many facilities provided to young Papuans and the Papuan people by President Joko Widodo and Head of BIN Budi Gunawan.
“I would like to thank Mr. President Jokowi and the Head of BIN, Mr. Budi Gunawan, for their kindness and love for the Land of Papua, so that we were given the opportunity to occupy this building, to be able to innovate, to provide the best work for the Land of Papua and for Indonesia,” said Vitha .
