President Jokowi Urges Labuan Bajo to Continue to be Beautified to Welcome Delegates to the 2023 ASEAN Summit

The President of the Republic of Indonesia, Joko Widodo appealed to his staff and related parties to be able to continue to beautify the Labuan Bajo area. This is intended to be able to welcome all the delegates for the 2023 ASEAN Summit in Indonesia in May.

The President of the Republic of Indonesia (RI) Joko Widodo (Jokowi) continues to review the readiness for the ASEAN Summit 2023 to be held in Labuan Bajo, West Manggarai Regency, East Nusa Tenggara (NTT). How could it not be, this was done in order to make Indonesia as chairman of the international event very ready to welcome the arrival of all heads of state and delegations from various countries in the ASEAN region who will attend the event.

At the same time, it also shows the strong commitment that the Government of Indonesia has in participating in supporting the succession of holding the 42nd ASEAN Summit in 2023 which will be held in May 2023.

It is known that when he arrived at Komodo Airport, West Manggarai Regency, NTT Province, on Saturday, April 22 2023, President Jokowi then immediately saw all the facilities and infrastructure there.

Not only did it stop there, but afterwards, when he was on his way to the hotel where he was staying, the seventh President of the Republic of Indonesia immediately saw several locations that really needed to be further beautified to be able to welcome all the guest delegations from ASEAN regional countries who would be present at Labuan Bajo.

Then, on the second day of his visit to Labuan Bajo, namely on Sunday April 23 2023, the Head of State who was also accompanied by the First Lady, Iriana Jokowi continued their visit and visited several other places which had not been visited before.

Not only giving instructions so that Labuan Bajo can continue to be beautified to welcome the presence of all heads of state and high-ranking state officials from countries in the ASEAN region, but according to the Deputy for Protocol, Press and Media of the Presidential Secretariat, Bey Machmudin that President Jokowi wants all tourist attractions those in the Labuan Bajo area can also be promoted to all delegations from friendly countries.

To ensure the success of efforts to encourage tourism promotion in Labuan Bajo, the President of the Republic of Indonesia felt it was very necessary to visit several existing tourist attractions. According to him, this is to be able to promote the beauty of the region which is indeed owned by the country, especially in Labuan Bajo directly and in more detail to the eyes of the world.

Meanwhile, the Tourism BUMN Holding, InJourney targets that visits can reach up to 1.5 million tourists per year to Labuan Bajo. The reason is, the target of tourist visits is indeed in line with the directions that have been put forward by the Ministry of Tourism and Creative Economy (Kemenparekraf RI).

Regarding efforts to continue to encourage tourist areas in Labuan Bajo to continue to be visited by tourists and even to exceed this number, the Director of Marketing and Tourism Program of InJourney, Maya Watono stated that his party would continue to beautify the area in Labuan Bajo and also Rinca Island which he was looking forward to. become a tourist attraction in the region.

It’s not half-hearted, in fact one of their targets is to be able to continue to push so that Labuan Bajo can become the best tourist destination in the world, because that region has truly extraordinary natural beauty. So that efforts to continue to expose are always intensified and will not only be promoted for domestic tourists, but will also continue to be encouraged and introduced to all international tourists.

Maya Watono then emphasized that later all aspects regarding tourism support in Labuan Bajo would continue to be accelerated by InJourney. According to him, the purpose of the acceleration is so that the attractiveness for tourists can continue to increase, both from local and foreign tourists.

One of the mainstay tourist areas in East Nusa Tenggara (NTT) is on Rinca Island, which is part of the Komodo National Park. Therefore, his party continues to ensure that efforts to beautify the area continue to be carried out. With efforts to beautify the area, it is of course hoped that it will be able to add to the list of tourist destinations that are able to attract all tourists to visit Labuan Bajo.

In order to welcome all the guest delegations consisting of heads of state as well as high-ranking state officials from all countries in the ASEAN region at the 2023 ASEAN Summit in Indonesia, President Joko Widodo continues to appeal to the Labuan Bajo area to continue to be beautified.
