The inauguration of the Nusantara Student Dormitory (AMN) which will be carried out by President Joko Widodo on November 29, 2022. Apart from preparing these educational facilities, BIN will also be involved in coaching AMN students.
The Governor of East Java, Khofifah Indar Parawansa, said that the first AMN in Indonesia was a miniature for formulating prospective leaders with an archipelago perspective with the character of Bhinneka Tunggal Ika.
“So this is expected to be a miniature formulation of prospective leaders who have an archipelago perspective with the character of Bhinneka Tunggal Ika. They can give each other an appreciation of the differences and diversity of each ethnic group, language and religion of each student,” said Khofifah.
The development of AMN refers to Presidential Regulation (Perpres) Number 106 of 2021 with the aim of being a forum for coaching to strengthen unity and integrity for the younger generation at the tertiary level.
As stated in the Presidential Decree, the Nusantara Student Dormitory (AMN) is a place to unite students from various ethnic groups, languages, cultures and religions who come from various regions in Indonesia and from various universities.
Apart from being a temporary residence for students from various regions, AMN is also a place for fostering students from all over the archipelago.
Guidance activities will be carried out by the ministry that organizes government affairs in the field of education together with the State Intelligence Agency (BIN).
The guidance of students living in AMN is carried out by BIN with the aim of increasing competence and understanding of nationalism, citizenship, the character of Pancasila students, defending the country, entrepreneurship, leadership, and pioneering.
“Apart from being a residence for scholarship recipient students, AMN Surabaya also functions for coaching activities whose implementation is supported by the State Intelligence Agency (BIN),” said Director General Cipta Karya Diana Kusumastuti.
The construction of the Nusantara Student Arama (AMN) located in Surabaya, East Java began in September 2021 and was completed in May 2022. Now, the AMN which will be inaugurated by the President of the Republic of Indonesia Joko Widodo and has been fully prepared by BIN so it is hoped that the inauguration can go smoothly smoothly so that it can be used as it should.
The State Intelligence Agency (BIN), which is currently headed by Police General Prof. Dr. Budi Gunawan, S.H., M.Sc. is a non-ministerial Indonesian government agency as the front line tasked with carrying out government tasks in the intelligence sector.
