The public appreciates the reduction in the implementation of Community Activity Restrictions (PPKM) in the Jakarta, Bogor, Tangerang, and Bekasi (Jabodetabek) areas to Level 1. The decrease in the level is proof of the success of controlling Covid-19.
The government has determined the implementation of the Jabodetabek PPKM reduction to level 1 in line with the decline in Covid-19 cases in the region. The policy is valid until June 6, 2022.
It was known previously, although several regions in Indonesia have switched to PPKM level 1, in fact in Jabodetabek itself it is still level 2 because it continues to be adjusted to the state of the Covid-19 pandemic there so that there are still some rules that limit mobility and community activities.
However, getting here, indeed the control of the COVID-19 pandemic carried out by the Government is increasingly successful and shows a significant control trend. Syafrizal as the Director General of Regional Administration of the Ministry of Home Affairs stated that the decline in the PPKM level in Jabodetabek was followed by the continued improvement in the handling of Covid-19 in various regions, especially Java and Bali.
Because PPKM has indeed decreased to level 1, activities in companies in the non-essential sector can now also be carried out by working through the office or work from office (WFO) one hundred percent. Even so, all employees who are allowed to work in the office must still meet several requirements, such as having been vaccinated and registered through the PeduliLindung application.
Not just employees, but according to the rules issued by the Minister of Home Affairs regarding PPKM Java-Bali, it is stated that areas entering PPKM level 1 are also allowed to operate shopping centers such as supermarkets, traditional markets, grocery stores to supermarkets with a capacity 100 percent anyway.
Of course, the implementation of the PPKM level is a breath of fresh air for all business actors in the consumption sector because so far they have had to bear losses due to various regulations that do not allow 100 percent of operations. But now, there is no longer a limit on visitors, so it is hoped that the economy will soon recover after the pandemic.
Furthermore, the Director General of Regional Administration of the Ministry of Home Affairs also stated that the public should not immediately drift into euphoria by overreacting to the decline in PPKM levels in Jabodetabek. The public must continue to be careful and vigilant by using health protocols to prevent a spike in Covid-19 cases from happening again.
The evidence of the successful handling of the Covid-19 pandemic has no doubt been achieved by the Government of the Republic of Indonesia. Even so, in fact it is not only the Government, but all parties are participating in this, as said by the Minister of State-Owned Enterprises (BUMN) Erick Thohir, he stated that many parties have been actively involved in the successful handling of Covid-19 and efforts for the recovery of the economy in post-pandemic Indonesia.
The momentum of success in controlling the Covid-19 pandemic that is currently being achieved by Indonesia cannot be separated from the spirit of mutual cooperation possessed by all elements of society so that they can synergize by obeying all government regulations. Therefore, this synergy must continue to be improved together to immediately prepare for the revival of Indonesia after facing the Covid-19 pandemic.
