The G20 Summit will be held in Indonesia, from 15 to 16 November 2022. Bali as the main venue for the conference is ready to welcome delegates from G20 member countries. They will use the latest and environmentally friendly electric vehicles to show that Indonesia has switched to green technology.

When Indonesia was appointed as the G20 Presidency in 2022, it received a positive response. The G20 Summit is a prestigious international forum that brings many benefits to this country, especially in the economic field. Therefore, the government prepares the G20 Summit as well as possible, including providing the best vehicles for the delegates.

The vehicles that will be used by delegates from G20 member countries are motorcycles and electric cars. PT Toyota Astra Motor, sent 143 Lexus UX 300e electric cars from Japan to Indonesia. This electric car will carry delegation guests and be used as their official vehicle, during the G20 Summit.

Apart from Lexus, Toyota is also preparing an electric car in the BZ4X series. These cars are very sophisticated and use an efficient electric motor because the power is only 54.35 kWh. But it can travel up to 300-500 KM and produces 201 horsepower, and has 300 Nm of torque, if the battery is fully charged.

Minister of State Secretary Pratikno stated that the use of electric cars at the G20 Summit was a real step for Indonesia in the energy transition. This is in accordance with the discussion at the G20 Summit. Namely supporting energy, sustainability , and climate task force.

Minister Pratikno continued, the G20 Summit is a momentum to show that Indonesia is ready for an energy transition. Also explained that Indonesia is ready to switch to clean energy.

In a sense, the transition of conventional energy to electric energy vehicles is very important, because it does not use energy from ordinary fuel oil. The weakness of this type of energy is that the raw material is from fossils, and its reserves continue to run out. Then, the emission level is also quite high so it is not environmentally friendly.

However, if they are replaced with motorcycles and electric cars, they will be more environmentally friendly because they have very minimal emissions. Electrical energy is a new energy, so Indonesia is getting ready to use it 100% as a fuel for motor vehicles. This energy is also cleaner so that it supports Indonesia as the G20 Presidency, which is committed to keeping the world’s environment green.

The existence of electric vehicles which are quite expensive and have sophisticated features, shows that Indonesia is ready to become a user country. Indeed, this type of vehicle is not too common. But over time people will get used to it. Especially after the G20 event, where they witnessed the beauty and sophistication of the electric vehicle.

Indonesia is preparing to enter the green industry, and there are already electric car battery factories in Eastern Indonesia. This investment factory produces car batteries ordered from South Korea and other countries. If there are electric vehicles at the G20 Summit, the delegates will be happy, because they also know that in Indonesia there is also an industry that supports electric vehicles, which are very environmentally friendly.

Meanwhile, electric motorcycles are also used in the G20 event. Electric motorcycle taxi services are provided free of charge for the committee, delegates, and participants of the G20 Summit. This service is available in the ITDC area, Nusa Dua, Bali. This electric vehicle shuttle is available at 5 pick-up points and 6 drop-off points which are integrated with bus services from the Ministry of Transportation.

The electric motorbike riders have been equipped with knowledge in the form of all kinds of electric vehicle usage (which is different from the conventional motorbikes they usually use). In addition, they are also able to use English, so they are not stiff when spoken to by the G20 delegates.

Minister of Transportation Budi Karya expressed his appreciation for the donation of electric motors to support the G20 Summit. According to him, electric motorcycles are clear evidence of the government’s desire to make electric vehicles more active in Indonesia. Commitment was shown during the G20 Summit, and hopefully the results will always be maximal.

The addition of electric motorcycles, apart from cars, is a tip to avoid traffic jams during the G20 Summit. Even though there has been traffic engineering to prioritize this activity, there is still a solution for the worst possibility. It is impossible for an event as important as the G20 Summit to be delayed because of traffic jams.

Then, electric motorbikes are also environmentally friendly so they will not suffocate the Bali air. This new model bike will also be seen by civilians, so they want it too. In this way, it becomes an indirect promotion, so that Indonesian people are more aware of environmentally friendly vehicles.

Electric vehicles, ranging from motorcycles to electric cars, are ready to be used to support the G20 Summit and facilitate the mobility of guests. Delegates from G20 member countries will be satisfied because they can feel the sensation of riding in a car or motorcycle that uses electric fuel.
