A number of Parties Ensure Preparedness Ahead of the ASEAN Summit

Kupang – A number of parties have confirmed their readiness ahead of the 2023 ASEAN Summit which will be held in Labuan Bajo, NTT, Indonesia. The East Nusa Tenggara Regional Police Chief, Inspector General of Police Johanis Asadoma ensured readiness to help secure the event.

“For the ASEAN Summit we have deployed personnel and vehicles to secure the area, type C1 patrol boats to secure waters, and a number of tight security at certain points,” said Johanis in Kupang, NTT.

Apart from that, his party also said that the State Intelligence Agency (BIN) would actively participate in maintaining security priorities during the event.

“We are also assisted by coordination from the State Intelligence Agency to ensure the security and safety of the ASEAN Summit delegation attending NTT,” he added.

On the other hand, the Ministry of Communication and Information Technology (Kemen Kominfo) also ensures the readiness of telecommunications infrastructure and services to ensure smooth communication during the event.

Head of the Telecommunications Monitoring Center Team from the Directorate of Post and Information Administration of the Ministry of Communication and Informatics, Indra Apriadi, said that telecommunications operators such as the Telkom group have taken anticipatory measures such as providing combat BTS which has been upgraded to the capacity of existing BTS, especially in Golo Mori and Labuan Bajo.

Meanwhile, as the holding company of PT Hotel Indonesia Group (HIG), Hotel Indonesia Natour (HIN) is also increasing supervision and coordinating with various Meruorah Labuan Bajo hotel stakeholders to ensure operational readiness and other supporting facilities.

President Director of PT HIN, Christine Hutabarat said that her party had confirmed the readiness of the Meruorah hotel, which would become a meeting place for delegates from ASEAN member countries.

“We have prepared everything needed, including service readiness, security and comfort,” said Christine.

The Minister of Transportation, Budi Karya Sumadi, has checked the readiness of transportation facilities and infrastructure to support the smooth mobilization of the ASEAN Summit guests.

“We want to ensure that the support from the transportation sector goes well, so that it contributes to the success of holding the ASEAN Summit where Indonesia is entrusted as chairman of the meeting, just like last year’s G20 international event,” concluded Budi.

It is hoped that the readiness of a number of parties will ensure the smooth running and success of the 2023 ASEAN Summit. With careful preparation and support from various parties, the 2023 ASEAN Summit is expected to become an event to strengthen solidarity and cooperation among ASEAN member countries.
