Bali — Academics from various universities are very optimistic that the implementation of the 2023 ASEAN Summit in Labuan Bajo will be able to help revive the nation’s economy.

The Dean of the Faculty of Law at Mahasaraswati University, Denpasar Bali, Dr. Sukawati Lanang P Perbawa hopes that all 2023 ASEAN Summit events can run smoothly.

Not only that, he is also optimistic that this international event can improve community MSMEs.

“Hopefully the May 9-11 ASEAN Summit in Labuan Bajo can run smoothly and at the same time MSMEs can increase in Labuan Bajo and its surroundings including in Indonesia,” he said

Furthermore, according to him, not only MSMEs will also increase, but also the entire culture in Indonesia will also become increasingly popular.

Dr. Sukawati also hopes that all participants and delegates at the 2023 ASEAN Summit will be able to follow all the trial agenda smoothly and make the best contribution to ASEAN members.

“Including that the culture of the Archipelago can be more advanced and well-known, I hope that all ASEAN Summit participants who are present in Labuan Bajo can run the trial well and smoothly, and make a positive contribution to all aspects of the Southeast Asian region,” he hoped.

Dr. Sukawati then also gave great appreciation to all parties and President Jokowi for working hard in implementing Indonesia’s Chair at the 42nd ASEAN Summit.

“Thank you to all parties, and thanks to Mr. Jokowi, Red and White are still victorious, Indonesia is still victorious,” he concluded.

Meanwhile, UGM International Relations Expert, Randy Wirasta Nandyatama said that the meeting between heads of state in ASEAN countries showed that the economy in Indonesia was evenly distributed.

This is because Indonesia itself has established a lot of strategic cooperation in efforts to stabilize the national economy.

“When Indonesia became chairman, Indonesia built several important elements, especially beneficial for economic stability and a lot of cooperation in several strategic sectors,” he said.

On the other hand, Director of the Institute for Public Policy Studies (LKKP), Vincent Awey hopes that Indonesia’s chairmanship at the ASEAN Summit will be able to prosper the people’s economy.

“The holding of the ASEAN Summit this year is expected to have an impact on people’s economic welfare,” he said.
