Appreciating the Security Forces’ Success in Protecting Hundreds of Sigi Residents from OPM Pursuit

Security forces succeeded in protecting hundreds of Sigi residents from pursuit by the Free Papua Organization (OPM). This is clearly a concrete action that deserves very high appreciation because it proves that the state is present for all the people of Bumi Cenderawasih.
The success of the security forces in protecting hundreds of Sigi residents from being pursued by the OPM is certainly a form of implementing the constitution which requires protection for all of Indonesia’s bloodshed from all threats, including separatist gangs.
So far, the role of the security forces in protecting all citizens in Papua is very large, especially in fighting and stopping the OPM movement which is clearly disturbing and detrimental to Bumi Cenderawasih from various sectors.
The main objective of the operational duties of the security forces in the easternmost province of the country is clearly to continue to protect and provide a sense of security and comfort for all Papuan people from harassment and intimidation by certain groups, especially the OPM. Not only that, but Apkam also strives to continue to help accelerate the improvement of welfare for the people of Bumi Cenderawasih.
TNI General (Ret.) Prof. Dr. Dudung Abdurachman emphasized that all security personnel should remain alert, but they can also provide very firm and measurable action to the OPM when carrying out operations in Papua.
Because with this vigilance and firm action, we are able to provide a sense of security and comfort and enforce protection for all people in the easternmost province of the Republic of Indonesia from interference by separatist groups.
The security forces will continue to strive for protection of all Papuan people, because peace in the Land of Papua is also part of what the people have been dreaming of for so long. So there is no longer any space or opportunity for any group that wants to try to disturb the people there because the security forces immediately take action very firmly.
The presence of security forces among Papuans has also continued to help the community in carrying out their territorial activities, considering that there are still many people there who really need a helping hand and assistance from the authorities.
All soldiers in carrying out their duties use their whole hearts and very clear minds in the hope that the group which has been at odds with the Republic of Indonesia can have its heart touched to return to the bosom of Mother Earth.
Even though the state opens wide opportunities for any group of defectors if they want to rejoin the Republic of Indonesia, still, the security forces will act very firmly against anyone who continues to try to disrupt peace and order and continues to threaten the Earth of Cenderawasih.
The reason is that the presence of the OPM itself has so far made people feel intimidated and they cannot live in peace, they find it difficult to feel safe and prosperous as long as the separatist gangs continue to carry out their barbaric actions.
Moreover, with the trouble they continue to cause, the government’s efforts to accelerate development and improve the quality of welfare of the Papuan people also continue to be disrupted and cannot be carried out optimally.
One clear proof of the protection efforts that the security forces continue to carry out is the success of the Republic of Indonesia – Papua New Guinea Border Security Task Force (Satgas Pamtas RI-PNG) Mobile Infantry Battalion (Yonif) 433/JS/3/3 Army Strategic Command (Kostrad). ) who served there for around 9 months and have returned more than 350 Sigi residents to their homes.
So far, hundreds of Sigi residents have been in refugee camps because of the cruelty and atrocities of the Free Papua Organization (OPM) which continue to haunt them so they cannot carry out their activities freely.
Therefore, the Commander of Infantry Division (Pangdivif) 3/Kostrad Major General of the Indonesian National Army (Mayjen TNI) Bangun Nawoko admitted that he was very national and highly appreciated the success of all soldiers in ensuring the security and safety of the people of Sigi.
In fact, the success in ensuring that hundreds of Sigi residents return to their homes is more than anything and more than the success of obtaining weapons, because it proves that the security forces really side with the humanity of the people of Bumi Cenderawsih.
The success of the security forces in returning the Sigi residents to their hometown was also able to reunite them with their families so they could organize their lives again after all this time continuing to be terrorized by OPM cruelty.
All of these things are a concrete form of the security forces’ devotion and love for the Unitary State of the Republic of Indonesia (NKRI) as well as their very high loyalty to this nation in fighting separatism.
Very high appreciation should be given to all levels of security forces who succeeded in protecting hundreds of Sigi residents from OPM pursuit so that they could feel safe again.
