West Manggarai – Member of the House of Representatives of the Republic of Indonesia (DPR RI) Commission III from the United Development Party (PPP) Fraction Arsul Sani is optimistic that the Government will be successful in holding an ASEAN High-Level Conference (KTT) in Labuan Bajo, East Nusa Tenggara. The success of the implementation will also have an economic impact.

“The 2023 ASEAN Summit has strategic value for Indonesia and it is hoped that the ASEAN Summit will become a milestone for all ASEAN countries, a new starting point for better economic growth,” he said.

According to Arsul, currently the economic conditions of ASEAN countries tend to be stable and he hopes that strategic decisions will result from the 2023 ASEAN Summit.

“At this summit strategic decisions were taken, for example increasing trade between ASEAN countries which no longer depended on the US Dollar currency,” added Arsul.

He revealed that Indonesia is the largest country in ASEAN so that an economic increase of nearly 5 percent can encourage positive economic growth in all ASEAN countries. Moreover, ASEAN has partnered with big countries such as the US, Japan, China, South Korea, the European Union, and others.

“This will allow ASEAN to transmit positive effects to the world economy,” said Arsul.
