West Manggarai — Head of the West Manggarai Health Service, Paul Mami said that the Komodo Hospital was ready to support the success of the 2023 ASEAN Summit.

Not only that, according to the Head of the Health Office, his party also prepared and alerted cardiologists.

“The hospital is ready. We are still waiting for a number of facilities from Surabaya. Apart from the facilities, we are also coordinating the presence of a cardiologist, both with the provincial government and with the Ministry of Health,” he explained.

In the same vein, the West Manggarai Regent, Edistasius Endi, also admitted that the Komodo Hospital was indeed ready to become a reference for the guest delegation.

There are still some deficiencies, but all of them have been discussed regarding the preparation.

“The things that are lacking in relation to the readiness of the infrastructure, medical personnel, and the local government have held meetings. The point is we are ready to become a referral hospital in holding the 42nd ASEAN Summit,” he said.

Several lists of deficiencies in the readiness of all referral hospitals have been recorded and will be resolved soon.

“We have identified the list provided by the ministry, so what is lacking in some of these items will be taken care of immediately,” continued Regent Edi.

The Regional Government has received a letter designating the Komodo Hospital as a referral hospital for the guests of the ASEAN Summit delegation on March 14, 2023 from the Ministry of Health.

“On March 14, the local government received a letter from the Ministry of Health which stated that the Komodo Hospital was one of the referral hospitals. In this regard, the local government, including hospital management, must prepare themselves perfectly,” said Edi Endi.

Previously, the Indonesian Ministry of Health (Kemenkes) had appointed five hospitals as a reference for the guests of the VIP delegation from the ASEAN Summit.

It is known that three of the five hospitals are in Labuan Bajo, namely Komodo Hospital, Siloam Hospital, and Santo Yoseph Hospital. Two other hospitals, namely Prof. dr. Nggoerah IGNG Ngoerah in Denpasar and dr. Wahidin Sudirohusodo in Makassar.
