East Nusa Tenggara – The holding of the 2023 ASEAN Summit in Labuan Bajo is certainly the best momentum to continue to encourage and promote the region to become a super priority tourist destination.
This year, Indonesia is entrusted with holding the Chair of ASEAN 2023 again. The position of chairmanship of ASEAN 2023 is appreciated by the community because it can advance the economy, both in the ASEAN region and throughout Indonesia.
President Joko Widodo stated that Indonesia, especially in Labuan Bajo, NTT, was ready to host and receive guests from ASEAN countries. He also said that this could be used to increase tourism in NTT.
“The most important thing is that later we also want to promote Labuan Bajo as a super priority destination, in Golo Mori it is good, we will see in Labuan Bajo it is also good. I think, if you look right, look left, everything is good and beautiful,” said the President through an official statement.
Deputy Governor of NTT, Drs. Josef Nae Soi said that the tourism sector in NTT had been established as the main driver of economic development in NTT. For this reason, the ASEAN SUMMIT 2023 is a big opportunity for NTT to improve the tourism sector.
“Therefore we in NTT must be able to seize this opportunity. One of them will be the opening of free trade between ASEAN and Australia and New Zealand, including Pacific countries, which number around 20 or 30 countries,” he said.
On the other hand, the Chairman of the BPC Association of Indonesian Hotels and Restaurants (PHRI) West Manggarai will provide full support for the holding of the 42nd ASEAN Summit in Labuan Bajo.
His party provided excellent service to heads of state and delegates to the 2023 ASEAN Summit in Labuan Bajo, West Manggarai Regency, NTT.
“I fully support holding the 42nd ASEAN Summit in 2023 in Labuan Bajo. We hope that the implementation of the ASEAN Summit will run smoothly, safely and successfully,” he said.
Labuan Bajo has a number of natural and cultural assets that can attract the attention of foreign people.
The natural beauty that is owned by Labuan Bajo is indeed a huge potential. Of course, if this cannot be put to good use it will be very unfortunate.
Therefore, with the momentum of the 2023 ASEAN Summit in Labuan Bajo, we are also able to continue to push the region to become a super priority tourist destination.
